Doja Cat recently shaved all her hair off and has explained to fans why she made the decision to change her look.
Speaking to her 24.1 million followers on Instagram Live on Thursday (August 4), the singer/rapper revealed she’s never liked wigs or her natural hair and went into detail about how it got in the way of her workouts.
“I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway,” she said. “I don’t like having hair. I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time since the beginning of my life that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool.’ I just do not like to have hair.
“I remember feeling so fucking just exhausted with working out, like whenever I went to go train, I had a trainer at one point, and I’d be wearing wigs and they would be getting tacky, they’d like retack because of the moisture, and then they’d start sliding and peeling off of my head while I’m doing this incredibly strenuous thing.”
She continued: “I’d be working out but I couldn’t focus because I was more concerned with how I looked and how my hair was doing and how to keep it adhered to my scalp and then it would slide off and then I’d put on a beanie. There were times I put on a beanie on top of my wig, that’s on top of a wig cap, that’s on top of braids.”

Doja Cat said her natural hair was a “nightmare” and admitted she should have shaved her head a while ago.
“I just can’t believe it took my this long to be like, ‘Shave your fucking head,'” she said. “Because first of all, I don’t wear my hair out. You guys have seen me wear my natural hair out, I had like two eras where my hair would be out, like I would straighten it. There was a moment where it was natural and I don’t even wear it natural because I don’t feel like it. It’s just a fucking nightmare, dude. I’m over it. I’m really liking this.”
Shortly after explaining why she shaved her head, Doja Cat decided to also shave off her eyebrows on Instagram Live.
“My makeup artist just texted me, ‘Are you shaving your brows off? I’m driving the fuck over,'” she said. “I’m gonna do it.”
When fans voiced their concerns about removing her eyebrows, she said, “It’s so funny, all the Terry Jo’s and the country girls in my chat are like, ‘Are you okay, sis? Are you okay? Sis? Are you okay, baby?’ I’m fine Terry Jo, I’m just fine. I’m doing dandy.”
The Instagram Live session was the first time Doja Cat showed her new look since revealing she was shaving her head on Sunday (July 31).
“im going to shave my head and gain a ton of muscle but as a joke,” she tweeted at the time.

Good on Doja for being brave enough to shave her head. Hair can be a real pain. Also, she’s half South African. Although you can do cool things with African hair, it can be a lot of work. I can’t believe so many people are hating on her for this. As for attention seeking, of course, she’s a celebrity, she makes millions off getting attention, so why shouldn’t she? She’s not harming anyone. All the haters should think about their own life choices and why they’re so full of bitterness themselves rather than taking it out on others for just cutting their hair.
