“I first like to say thank you to Comcast, Comcast Diversity Council and NBC for recognizing the importance of minority ownership of cable television,” he said. “I grew up watching BET, MTV, HBO and NBC, and I had a dream that one day I would get a chance, an opportunity to show my perspective coming from a musical standpoint.”

    1. I bet you there will be at least 5 different Making The Band Type shows on this network.

Also the product placement of Ciroc will be absolutely fuckin everywhere.

Diddy is to hip hop as Tyler Perry is to Comedy.

      1. Why You Mad At The Idea Though? Neither MTV or BET Show Videos That Much Anymore…A Channel Like This Is Needed Right Now.

      2. Need right now? Are you fucking out of your mind??? An unbiased, neutral-give everybody an opportunity channel with multiple genre programs (like 90’s BET) is what’s needed right now. This here is just another addition to pop culture that doesn’t cater to the smaller demographics.

      3. Anonymous, all we know is that Diddy is launching a music channel, we did not get the programming guide, so how do you know what they will be showing for you to knock it?

    2. Okay. I will give the man this, he did mention that in 2012 he was going to make some BIG announcements and I was ready to call his bluff, but this is pretty big. Downfall is, his music channel is going to be biased, will probably play videos from his record label primarily and affiliates, and will try to dictate what’s hot (but then again, so do BET, MTV and radio). I guess that’s just another channel to add to the mix…

      Random clip from the Boondocks:
“Maaaaaaan, FUCK BET, I’m going to go read a book…”

      1. Obviously, Bad Boy artists will get major shine on the network, but one, there aren’t that many Bad Boy artists today, probably less than 5 and we are not gonna be shown the same 10 videos 24/7.

Second, it takes MILLIONS and some serious pull that even Diddy by himself does not have, to launch a cable network. Companies like Home and Garden (HGTV), etc, that are already in the business, launch new networks and its a bit$$ and a half getting the cable companies to give them wide distribution (making it available in all their customers’ homes nationwide), so its probably being backed by someone else with industry experience and Diddy is the front man and maybe minority investor, and so with all they would have gone through to get it off the ground, they’d know better than to give us All Diddy TV all the time.

Its not a slam dunk, the Oprah network is struggling and this could too, although I’ve always said if someone was smart enough to give us an all music channel and ignore all the crap that MTV has detoured into, they’d probably be successful. Shoutouts to Diddy and on several posts about wanna be thug rappers, Suge knight, etc, I’ve stated that I wish our people would learn that that thuggish nonsense does not hold any promise. Where is Suge today and where is Diddy? That kid that used to dance in videos is on course to become one of the biggest entrepreneur in the country, while Suge is getting knocked out by people half his size. Let’s wake up people.

10 years from now you gotta call me on the yatch, I thought I told you that we won’t stop.

    3. DO U COMPLAIN THE SAME WAY WHEN CLEAR CHANNEL DOES THE SAME ON RADIO? WHEN MTV & VH1 AND BET (RUN BY THE SAME COMPANY) PUT THE SAME CRAP ON REPEAT?

RUSSELL RUSH AIN’T EVEN THINK TO DO THE SAME THING AND HE GOT MO’ POWER THAN PUFF.

Y’ALL JUST WANNA HATE TO HATE. LET HIM WORK IT 1ST B4 U JUDGE IT.

    4. as easy as it is to make the joke that mtv doesn’t play music videos anymore, it’s because no one would watch them. why sit and watch a video you don’t necessarily want to watch on tv when you can go online and watch whatever you want. music lives online now and I think mtv figured that out a while ago.

best of luck to diddy, but he is going to have to do more than just play music videos to get people to watch

      1. It’s not that people don’t want to watch music videos on the TV. It’s more likely that people don’t want to sit in front of it for 4 hours and maybe see something they like.

If they would bring back the themed program format, then I would propably sit in front of the TV watching YO MTV Raps ilke I used to do. But I’m sure as hell not watching two to three hours of Lady Gaga to see a 3 minute clip of Pop Hop as a reward.

That’s where they really dropped the ball.. Not everyone likes generic pop shit.

    5. I hope this project fails and wipes Diddy clean. Him and Jay Z are bad for the culture. They are both greedy and don’t give back to those who helped them get to the top.

      1. Shut up, fag. I’m not a fan of Diddy or Jay-Z, but I respect them, because they’re two black men who went from nothing to something. They’re good businessmen; that’s why they’re the richest rappers ever.

“Him and Jay Z are bad for the culture.”
Diddy, I can sorta agree on, but Jay-Z is one of the most influential rappers in hip-hop. You wanna know who’s really bad for the culture? YMCMB, MMG, Brick Squad, SODMG, Lil B, and every wack rapper and the people who dickride them. Those people are bad for the culture.

      2. What’s even worse for the culture are idiots like ^^^

You don’t know shit about Hip Hop, but one thing you did get right is all the other names…you just forgot P. Shitty and Gay-Z

      3. anyone that hates on Diddy & Jay-Z are usually lame ass niggaz.Jay makes good music & is whether you think so or not one of the greatest artists of all time.& diddy is a good actor.that dirty money shit diddy dropped was a club banger & a half.& has helped give us big

    6. hopefully his “music themed network” turns out to be the reality show hotbed that mtv BET and vh1 have become!!! i want tigger and rap city back…

      1. what are you talking about man? how does someone watch a new tv network that isnt out yet by reading a news article????

      2. Did this dumb ass really say reading an article is like watching a tv network? The world has officially been dumbed down…thanks for the clarifying that you’re the fuckin dummy in all these comments!! ROFLMMFAO

    7. “Diddy is launching a new television network called Revolt on December 12, 2012.”

Well that’s good, the world will only have to suffer for only 9 days before the Apocalypse. #BlameDiddy

    8. lol..Why all yall bitching like lil bitches ? Alll yall niggas TV Zombies because that what you do sit in front of a glowing screen watch bullshit so shut up TV Zombies..

    9. “to do it from my point of view.. from my perspective.. a musical perspective and point of view” – diddy (the nigga that dont know shit about music. or perspective. or shit.. point of view)

    10. HATE THIS GUY ALL YOU WANT..FROWN UPON HIS NEW IDEAS ALL YOU WANT…..FACT IS DAMN NEAR EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES IS GOLD….HIS SUCCESS AND HIS WEALTH SPEAK FOR ITSELF AND STRANGELY ENOUGH MUSIC ONLY HAS TO DO WITH ABOUT 25% OF THAT. IM FOR THIS NETWORK FOR NUMEROUS REASONS, WHAT CHANNEL DO WE HAVE NOW THATS DOING WHAT HE HES GOING TO DO??…..IF IT WASNT FOR YOUTUBE WE’D PROBABLY NEVER SEE MUSIC VIDEOS . I NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY SO MANY PPL COULD HATE ON ANYONE THAT IS SUCCESSFUL

      1. It doesnt matter,he could’ve made da vid with a camera phone. Just wait & C how dis network pops off. Diddy RARELY 1/2 as##s on anything potentially involving millions being generated. i.e. Ciroc,S Jean clothing, etc. Other than 106/Park we have nothing to enjoy musically. MTV totally dropped da ball.Get dat $$$ Diddy

    11. if this show shows underground cats mixed with a couple of mainstream artist(kanye, lupe, common etc) add freestyles and interviews it would be perfect

      1. AYE AYE NIGGA,WATCH YO MOUTH CUHHHH!

    12. Diddy the only fag in the world scurred of dead gangstas. Fuck him and his whack ass irrelevant label & music. He just mad cuz he was forced to suck some Crip dick. #TrueStory

      1. so………..either you were there and saw it……..or are this crip person………or you believe what people tell you……..what official gang-banging crip would tell people he got his dick sucked by another man?

    13. You know those little network bugs that channels put in the corner to identify the channel? How much you want to bet that little bug will be Diddy in lower right corner dancing?

      Alllll up in the videos…
