Kim Kardashian is heading to Saturday Night Live. Without Kanye West by her side, Kim K. has been tapped to play host on the October 9 episode of SNL as part of Season 47.
“OMFG no turning back now!!!! LOL I’m hosting SNL!!!!!! @nbcsnl,” KKW excitedly wrote to Twitter.
Kim Kardashian will be the first of the Kardashian clan to earn hosting duties. Kanye has never hosted SNL but has appeared as a musical guest on numerous occasions as recently as September 2018.
Kardashian’s appearance has long been rumored in recent months with celebrity gossip Instagram account Deuxmoi hinting at the reality star’s upcoming gig. TMZ also reported that Kris Jenner and her daughter met with SNL boss Lorne Michaels in August at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge.

During Kim Kardashian’s October 9 appearance, Halsey has been tapped as the musical guest. The singer previously hosted Saturday Night Live in 2019.
Kanye has been critical of SNL in the past and in 2020 claimed the late-night live television series “uses Black people to hold other Black people back.” Yeezy’s criticism came when the night’s host Issa Rae dissed his chances of becoming president.
“I’ve always said SNL uses black people to hold other black people back My heart goes out to Issa Rae I’m praying for her and her family I know that the twenty years of service that I’ve paid in the entertainment field has furthered our ability to be more successful,” he wrote last October.
As for other episodes announced, Young Thug will be the only rapper represented at the October 16 airing. Thugger’s appearance will come on the heels of his anticipated Punk album, which is set to arrive a day prior on October 15.
