Wale Says He’s Working On The “Nothing” Project, Talks New LP

Wale recently shed some light on the newest details of his upcoming work and has a lot in store for 2013.

Recently stopping by Philly’s Power 99 to chat, the MMG rapper talked about his upcomming projects, changing his style to a more “soulful” sound for the LP and says that his collaborative mixtape with labelmate Meek Mill is still in the works.

“I’m dropping my third solo album first, then a couple months after I’ll probably drop the Nothing project,” he said. “I’m very creative, I’m knee deep in that joint. It’s kind of like a persona; thing; I design my records and the sound a certain way for two different projects.” The Meek Mill project is supposed to follow the first two efforts of Wale’s 2013 campaign.

Speaking on how the album will sound, Wale explained that his third studio LP is “going to have one sound, very, very soulful” and said “‘Bad’ is a pretty good indication of the direction I’m going for this project.” He also explained that he doesn’t believe he’s become anymore commercial sincle releasing his debut album.

“I don’t think I ever really changed,” Wale said. “My first album was ‘as commercail’ if not more so than the second one.”

    1. “MMG has taken more L’s in 2013 than any other label”

The only other noteworthy label is Young Money, so who else is doing better than MMG? Not G Unit. They’re MIA lol

      1. lol aftermath? and mmg has sold more records than good. just be honest man. and alot of labels are under the interscope umbrella including after so you cant really count them

      2. you talking like MMG is independent or something, they are under warner bros umbrella

kendrick lamar’s album on aftermath records sold more in 2012 than any MMG album the same year

    2. “kendrick lamar’s album on aftermath records sold more in 2012 than any MMG album the same year”

Wake me up when Kendrick is 6 albums deep and rollin in dough like Rozay.

      1. I like how many excuses you make for Ross. Kendrick is 25, William is 38. Kendrick released his first album when he was 24, while William released his first album at age 29, so you can’t compare the two. Kendrick is just starting. He manage to drop better music than Mr. Roberts.

BTW, Def Jam is the one rolling in dough, not William

    3. “Interscope, Aftermath, GOOD Music”

Interscope has been taking heavy losses of late, and Good Music? Kanye’s name couldn’t even get that to gold.

      1. you say that but GOOD Music has one album thats 2X platinum, one thats platinum and 5 gold albums.

looks like they have been more successful than Maybach Music Group who only has 3 gold albums in their discography!
