A judge has decided to temporarily remove Tekashi 6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, from his federal racketeering case. The decision was made on Tuesday (January 22) during a pre-trial conference where it was revealed Lazzaro had represented 6ix9ine’s co-defendants, Faheem “Crippy” Walter and Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, prior to representing 6ix9ine.
East Coast attorney Mohammed Gangat provided the update in a video he posted after the conference. He says the controversial rapper’s lawyers also didn’t apply for the $1.5 million bail package previously discussed.
“The news is pretty much altogether bad,” Gangat explains. “First off, they didn’t make the bail application. Everyone was expecting to apply to get bail, but they didn’t do it. Strategic deicion by the defense. We don’t know exactly why they didn’t do it, but they didn’t do it. Remains to be seen whether it will happen in the future. But for now, they’re not trying to get him out on bail.
“Two, it was discovered that his current attorney has represented other defendants in the case. This could be a big problem in criminal law. The judge basically said that he’s upset that he didn’t already get told this and now, the judge is going to have a hearing on whether the fact that this lawyer represented multiple defendants means that this lawyer cannot represent 6ix9ine, that 6ix9ine has to get a whole new lawyer.”
According to XXL, Judge Paul A. Engelmayer has made the decision to ban Lazzaro from representing 6ix9ine unless he sends detailed letters detailing his previous dealings with Kifano and Walter. If they aren’t submitted by January 28, or if it’s discovered there’s a conflict of interest, Lazzaro could be permanently removed. Dawn Florio, 6ix9ine’s other lawyer, will retain her current role.
6ix9ine is facing six charges stemming from his alleged involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang, including counts of racketeering conspiracy. He faces up to life in prison if convicted on all charges.
6ix9ine’s next pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 27, while his trial date is set for September 4. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
crumbling is the right word for this shit
CrumbleStilskin! Sheeeet ya never know his lawyer probably had intel about 69 getting hurt and decided to help keep his ass in there.
OR what if this is straight out of a movie and the laywer really still works for Shottie. Making SixNine believe, “Oh this case, forget about it. You don’t need to snitch. We’ll totally get you off.” But really, Shotties defense is going to use sixnine as the ring leader/get out of jail free card. He’s got the “celebrity status”. I mean come on, that 30 pack hit video TMZ had, where do you think they got the video? The FBI snitch? Or maybe one of shotties homies in case shit like this ever went down? Shottie is just the dude in the back, while sixnine is making the calls.
His trial don’t start till September 2019. If he fights his case it can go on till 2021 or 2022.
If he snitches he will get sentenced faster, he’ll still do a long time. If he wants to get out in a few years he has to snitch on a couple dozen people. Like Sammy The Bull did. Sammy was looking at life. Snitched on over 50 Mobsters and got off with 5 years.
If tekashi dies, he dies
