Lil Wayne Announces “Tha Carter V” Release Date — Officially

Lil Wayne finally announced the release date for his nearly mythical album, Tha Carter V. After years of being held up in red tape, the project will arrive on September 27, which also happens to be Weezy’s birthday.

Wayne confirmed the news in a video he posted to his social media accounts on Tuesday (September 25). He began by addressing the confusion over the release date. Many people thought the project was arriving on September 21.

“I heard there was a misunderstanding about the release date of the C5,” he says in the clip. “I heard y’all got mixed up and thought it was gonna get release like last week or something.

“Well, I would like for you to know that since y’all stuck with me and hung in there anyway for like the past four or five years through all of this but uh on my birthday, I actually have something special. I will be releasing Tha Carter V on my birthday.”

    1. I was hyped for this years ago but i am not anymore. Will have to stream it and see if its any good. Lately Wayne has put out allot of terrible verses and music. Dont know if he was doing it on purpose because he was still signed to cash money or he just didnt care. If its anything like “Pistol on my side ” Wayne with swizz beatz then its gonna be fire!

      1. What lol? Pistol I my side was complete trash. Trash beat. Trash verse. Super annoying voice. Swizz beats cannot seem to make anything different from back in the day.

    2. I’m not supporting this backstabber after breaching his contract to suddenly talk shit about birdman in 2014. Its not birdman raping lil wayne. Its wayne being mad that he was told his album still wasn’t good enough. He didn’t have to get all mad and backstabbed birdman (to which cash money still hasn’t recovered from). I’m not buying wayme’s crap.

      1. REALLY?! “Backstabbing Birdman”…So what do you call what Birdman did to Mannie Fresh? Or B.G.? Or Juvenile? Or Turk? Or a host of producers that didn’t get paid? Don’t worry I’ll wait. Cash Money is officially done.

        1. They all got paid. They just didn’t want to wait until their contract was up to renogatiate. They just bitched and bitched just like wayne.

          1. They all got paid…The point you brought up was “backstabbing” and since “they all got paid”…how did they get paid? Juvenile had to get at him on some real shit, B.G. had to threaten him, Turk had to get out of jail and reach a settlement and Mannie had to call him out. Now they’re “bitching”…ITS NOT BITCHING WHEN ITS YOUR MONEY THAT’S OWED TO YOU. I don’t think you know what you’re talking about but you are entitled to your opinion.

    3. I can smell this n*ggas hair through my phone watching this. Anyway about damn time this album drops!

    4. Didn’t like anything he put out since the Carter 1 which was a classic to me to me, well that’s was 14 years ago LOL but this dude’s got many of the new generation rappers imitating him but in a horrible way… don’t mind giving a new lil Wayne album a shot but it better be impressive since it took that long!

    5. No one wants a lil Wayne album. Just when real hip hop is coming back strong this dude comes back and decides to release an album. #Daytona still album of the year

        1. Definitely agree with you . Without Wayne none of this face tattoo having rappers be around Tpain and Lil Wayne formed this generation.

        1. i agree sweeeeet. thats why i dont want him to release an album. hip hop is getting back to being good since he has been gone. he created the lil pump, lil boat, lil whatever, perp, xan etc etc generation problem we have today.
