Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola a little less than two weeks ago and already the Southern wordsmith is 35 percent finished with his next studio album. Boosie made that particular revelation and also offered a brief update on the project during a recent interview with Cleveland, Ohio-based radio station Z107.9.

In addition to revealing that the album is 35 percent finished, Boosie rattled down a list of artists who will likely appear on the project. Among the artists mentioned were Atlanta rapsters 2 Chainz and T.I. and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.

“I’ve been in the studio every night, all night,” Boosie said. “Except first night I came home. So, man, I’m ‘bout 35 percent finished with my album already. And we working, man. Every night, every day. From five in the evening to five in the morning. That’s where I’m at…I sent T.I. a record last night. T.I. got on it. Although Boosie has already sent records to both 2 Chainz and T.I., in a past interview, he revealed that he’s open to collaborations with anyone in the music industry.

After speaking on his currently untitled album, the Trill Entertainment emcee offered a few words of advice to the youth. He advised them to stay in school and warned of the consequences of life in the streets.

“Try to stay in school, man. Cause these streets—These streets, you going to prison,” he said. “That’s just a fact. You know? I don’t care how good you get in doing what you doing, if it’s part of the streets you going to prison. I want ‘em to chase they dreams also. So, I just want them to stay positive and stay around positive people…I hope to tell them to learn from they mistakes when that do happen. Cause when you do that it make you a better person.”

Lil Boosie was released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary on March 5 after serving nearly five years on drug charges.

His release from prison was followed by the Boosie Speaks press conference. During the press conference, Boosie discussed his time spent in prison, his place in the rap game, and his plans to release Boosie The Movie.

“Well, I wrote my own movie, Boosie The Movie. I might shop it, but I’m probably gonna get my own money and do it myself and I’m gonna try to put it in theaters cause it ain’t no movie like this movie. This the real life story,” Boosie said.

    1. Bieber never head of this nicca until a week ago but he will likely do a record with him to get points with his niggas.

      1. Mack Maine and B.G. done did songs with Boosie. Birdman did a song with Webbie. Bieber friend Lil Twist is signed to YMCMB, so do the math.

    2. You can tell he’s desperate and actually thinks his new found internet fame after being freed from prison paired with a Justin Bieber feature will help his career in any way!

      1. he’s working on too many things at once, I mean Boosie the Movie? for real my nigga? get a damn album out first, get a clear view of your buzz & your fanbase then try out your documentary shit

    3. Lil Boosie is real hip hop. Haters gonna hate. Tell my why is Digable Planets more hip hop? Why is Q-tip more hip hop? Why is Mos Def more hip hop? Why is Black Moon more hip hop? Why is De La Soul more hip hop? I think they suck and Boosie is better than them

      1. Why you have to bring up other names to justify your stance? If you feel he’s good you don’t have to compare to no one he’s just as much hip hop as the people you mentioned. That’s an insecure approach.

      2. Because, they all have New York accents. The lyrics are all the same except for the accents.

      3. Digable isn’t more hip hop cause they’re homeless, but Boosie is horrible, worse than Webbie. Some rappers exist just so they can curse the earth with their annoying voice and horrible, one dimensional lyrics, but enough about Kendrick.

      4. “Some rappers exist just so they can curse the earth with their annoying voice and horrible, one dimensional lyrics, but enough about Kendrick.”

None of this describes Kendrick at all.

      5. “^^ So you’re telling me Kendrick don’t have an annoying voice and one dimensional lyrics”

He doesn’t. You’re describing one of those weak Southern rappers.

“The nikka sounds like a mouse, and nine times out of ten his raps are about life in the hood”

He doesn’t even sound like that and you must not listen to his music much because K-Dot raps about life in general.

    4. Boogie say he back on the grind. Be sure to check out thegrandreport, they have some good hip hop and vital videos on there

      1. Fuck you!!!! You always have some slightly relevant comment, then you say go check out thegrandreport. No!!!!

    5. Why you have to bring up other names to justify your stance? If you feel he’s good you don’t have to compare to no one he’s just as much hip hop as the people you mentioned. That’s an insecure approach.”

Like when the ross groupies bring up 50 all the time.

      1. The 50 Stan’s like the OP recognize how irrelevant he is so they come on Boosie articles and try to name drop him and engage in convo about him.

    7. Let’s not forget that Boosie is a below-average rapper who is, at best, borderline mentally retarded. Just because this sorry ass n199a went to jail doesn’t mean anyone in their right mind needs to give a flying fuck about his next release.

Sad state of affairs that because this creepy looking hood rat is a criminal, he somehow is being elevated to the status of an important artist. N199a please!

      1. Boosie is the truth. Based Boosie. Boosie > Rakim, Pac. Boosie is a very important figure in hippidy hop

      2. There would be no rakim if there was no boosie. The two biggest Hip Hop pioneers: Kool Herc and boosie.
        #freeboosie

    8. “Im gonna try to put it in theaters”

He means if you have a home theatre system, and get BET on your current cable package.

    9. i really hate when people use the words “HIP HOP” when they refer to RAP. HIP HOP IS NOT JUST THE MUSIC… IT IS NOT JUST RAP!!!! RAP IS ONE PART OF HIP HOP. HIP HOP IS A CULTURE. A WAY OF LIFE. A WAY OF THINKING. STOP CALLING THIS SHIT HIP HOP. HE A RAPPER!!! THAT’S IT. A WACK RAPPER AT THAT. BUT THAT’S MY OPINION. SOME CATS THINK HE THE GREATEST RAPPER TO EVER SPIT. ITS SO SUBJECTIVE. CATS DONT HAVE TO BE NICE ON THE MIC NO MORE. ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS BE RELEVANT. HE SOMEHOW RELEVANT RIGHT NOW. SO HE GONNA GET HIS SHINE.

      1. Thanks for the rant Krs-One. Hip Hop isn’t just rap, it’s also deejaying, b-boying, and graffiti art. We know.

    10. If Boosie puts Beiber on this album He loses a ton of respect for me and i will not buy or even listen to it. New artist today is one the biggest disappointments in the world right up there with obama.

    11. Boosie is my favorite rapper the end! but this makes me think twice about his new music im not excited anymore

    12. This nikka speakin on Justin Bieber every day and every night. This whole thought of crossin over to the mainstream must be really consuming him. And the sad part is that Justin probably don’t even know this muthaphuka is.

    13. I cant take any rapper who does a collab with fuckin bieber or Miley cyrus seriously..Imma big fan of boosie’s shit,But if this is the direction hes headin like juicy j.I wont be fuckin with it…Go Download “Da Mafia 6ix” if u want some real street shit.
