R. Kelly Has 35 More Chapters Of “Trapped In The Closet” Ready To Go

Say what you will about R. Kelly, but his rap opera Trapped In The Closet is one of the most innovative projects in recent musical history.

Speaking about his 2017 plans with AJC.com, R. Kelly revealed that he’s ready to add to the 33 chapters of the opera — and not just in small steps.

“I have my R&B hip-hop album – I haven’t named it yet, and “Trapped in the Closet,” I have 35 more chapters of that done. I’m very excited about that.”

It doesn’t sound like the finer details are worked out just yet, but R. Kelly sounds certain that the next instalment of Trapped In The Closet will be out soon.

“It will absolutely be out next year. I’ll tour if it’s a major deal, but if not I might just chill and just finish writing my movie scripts.”

The 49-year-old also talked about the here and now.

The singer’s project of original Christmas songs, titled 12 Nights of Christmas recently dropped and Kelly explained his decision to go with originals rather than covers. “I wanted to respect the classic-ness of Christmas. I didn’t want to go too far past that. Although I did go as R. Kelly as I could.”

Kelly also revealed that he shares a favorite Christmas song with Chance The Rapper. Both of them named Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas” as one of their classic Christmas jams.

    1. It was losing steam by around chapter 7. The first few parts were the shit though, epsecially back then when people still listened to the regular radio. When he was getting down to the midgets and shit in the closet, I lost interest and don’t even remember the rest.

    2. wait, “trapped” in the closet? this better feature top tier quality artists like young thug, migos, lil yachty, lil uzi vert, fetty wap and desiigner. and a verse from drizzy drake as the cherry on top.

    3. It’s the remix to ignition/Hot and fresh out the kitchen/
Mama rollin’ that body got every man in here wishin’/
      Sippin’ on coke and rum/
      I’m like so what I’m drunk/
It’s the freakin’ weekend baby I’m about to have me some fun

    4. He’s the greatest ever. I put my GF onto him. He needs to go back to his durag era rap/R&B. It would work in this climate.
