Yo Gotti Mourns Death Of Manager Mel Carter

Yo Gotti suffered the loss of one of his good friends, his manager Mel Carter, when he passed away yesterday (November 25). The Memphis rapper paid tribute to Carter in a series of social media posts, crediting his friend with encouraging him to expand his career.

Carter served as general manager of Gotti’s CMG label. Blac Youngsta joined the roster last year and signed his contract on a private jet. Moneybagg Yo is the newest CMG signee and dropped the collaborative mixtape 2 Federal with Yo Gotti a few weeks ago.

Carter was also influential early in Kanye West’s career. Yeezy shouts him out on The College Dropout when he says “My nigga Mel brought me to a bunch of labels” on “Last Call.”

Several in Hip Hop, including T.I., French Montana and 2 Chainz, mourned Carter’s death.

HipHopDX sends its condolences to Yo Gotti and Mel Carter’s family and friends.

          1. I said the same thing when I tried to google it! Its like really weird because I’m a huge fan of Yo Gotti and it just seems like every picture he takes with Jay (which I’m also a huge fan of despite what seems to be true ) he’s (Gotti) not really vibin like something’s off ? He usually don’t smile a lot anyway but it’s his whole aura just seems like “I really don’t fuck with you as a person, I respect your hustle but I really dont fuck with you” it’s weird not even a month a Mel’s passing, Gotti signed with Roc Nation ? Once again something just doesn’t seem right. At the Grammy’s they had my baby in some Johnny Gill like loafers w/o socks! Like?! ??? They’re already changing him! And they all had on those damn loafers without socks ? Smh I don’t like it . I don’t like it at all ….
