Puff Daddy Welcomes Students To His New Charter School

Puff Daddy likely made rap mogul history this week when the doors to the charter school he founded officially opened.

Page Six reports that Puff spoke to eager students at Capital Prep on Monday (August 29), at the opening of the school.

The Bad Boy Records founder, who has had quite the fruitful career, talked success and being a leader.

“I was able to be successful,” he said. “I was able to gain tools and secrets and knowledge about what it takes to be a leader, what it takes to win, what it takes to make your dreams come true.”

Located in Harlem, New York, Capital Prep has enrolled 160 sixth and seventh graders, this school year. The charter school currently has plans to expand to high school grades in the future.

Puff Daddy’s appearance at Capital Prep came only hours after he appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Those in attendance at the annual awards show were treated to performances from Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Future, and more.

    1. I’m pleasantly surprised by this. Diddy is an outspoken liberal politically and most liberals oppose charter schools because they threaten the grip unions have on public education. However, given the poor quality of public education in many urban areas, charter schools are a great alternative for those who can’t afford private education.
