Benzino Wants A Conversation With Eminem, Recalls Elliott Wilson Confrontation

Benzino, former co-owner of The Source magazine, addressed his past feuds in a newly-released interview with Vlad TV. Among Benzino’s most notorious feuds was his beef with Detroit rapper Eminem.

According to the “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star, his beef with Em was “blown out of proportion” and is a part of his life that’s now behind him. Benzino later revealed that he’d love to one day have a conversation with Eminem.

“The whole Eminem beef was blown out of proportion,” Benzino said. “As far as I’m concerned people go at it all the time, but ours was just blown out of proportion. And I’m sure people can understand why. But that’s behind me now. And I told him if I ever seen him I would love to get into a conversation with him, with Marshall. I would love to have some type of conversation. No matter what. What we went through is always gonna be history. Always. He’s an incredible lyricist. There’s no question about it.”

Another feud Benzino addressed during his interview was one with former XXL magazine editor-in-chief, Elliot Wilson. According to the New York Times, Wilson referred to Benzino as being “way outta your league” in a XXL magazine editorial written in response to a degrading cartoon The Source published of Wilson.

Benzino says that he immediately went to XXL’s offices to confront Wilson about the matter.

“I went up to the offices and seen dude,” he said. “And dude apologized immediately. I don’t want to tell you what took place. Cause it ain’t about incrimination. But I went up there and he actually apologized in front of the whole staff. Had him apologize in front of the whole staff. So, handled that fast. That was fast. That was just—Matter of fact, I walked over to they office…I walked over there. You know what I’m saying? Got on that immediately. See, cause a lot of times Vlad and you can take heed to this. Bloggers out there can be real—You got a lot of bloggers out there that are going through personal stuff, so I think sometimes they’re not biased. I mean, they’re not unbiased, so sometimes they take it personally.”

    1. Lol he’s the one writing a song about punching eminem a mom and killing eminem , Em came back with Nail in the coffin and that was that lol, still such a hard song to this day

    2. Fuck Benzino and his recent near death experience. I’m not even a eminem fan as much as I used to be; and still I remember the terribly fucked up things this dude has done. It’s no wonder why a member of his own family tried to take him out.

    3. Eminem is so burnt out from drugs he honestly might not even remember who you are. Ya’ll seen the Eminem interviews from the last few years, they ask that cat “Yo Em, what’s your favorite color” and he gets that Deer in the headlights look and starts looking all over the room and it take him like 3 minutes to answer. That’s why his music is so shitty now, he’s too fucked up to know the difference.

      1. That was a staged event you fuckin idiot… Go play mmlp2 in its entirety and then tell me he’s burnt out. Go troll elsewhere you bum

    4. lmao relevant music? only tracks I ever heard from him are the pull ya skirt up diss to Eminem and that made men track with the lox

The whole Eminem thing was nothing but an attack on him for being white in a black culture fuck is he talking bout. Zino took one the biggest L’s in hip hop history cause of that Eminem beef

      1. no fuck-boy who said that?

Benzino went at Eminem cause he was the biggest rap star around and it was the only way benzino was gon be mentioned (his music was fuckin horrible). He was always talking bout him being white to try get sum points calling him racist comparing him to elvis and all sorts of other shady shit he really tried to end Eminem career…………….I don’t even listen to slim anymore b4 u start crying bout me being a stan

    5. “maybe you”ll understand me if i say it sloooower…let it gooo dawg it’s over”

served him on wax, ended his magazine.

    6. Benzino did warn heads about the corporate whitewashing but Iggy don’t run sh#t she’s a pawn. Her fame is manufactured

    7. My last pay check was $9500 working 12 hours a week online. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months now and she works about 20 hours a week. I can’t believe how easy it was once I tried it out. This is what I do,,,

    8. lol at benzino getting angry because someone said he whack, its opinon and its a lot of peoples opinion is you are trash always have been

    9. Elliot Wilson sucks Jay Z’s nuts. He LOVES anything regarding Gay Z. He would love to be Jay Z’s son. He would love to be Ivy Godfather. He would love to murk Beans and Dame for Jay. Trust me.

    11. The new rappers representing the culture are going to be suburban white kids, Canadians, Austrarlians, and other people outside our community….its no surprise that the best selling artist of all time is Eminem and the 2nd best selling group of all time is the Beastie Boys, kinda lets you know who buys the majority of the albums.

I advise all you aspiring rap artists to have a back up plan and a side hustle and a second carrer because now that Mackelmore is at the top of the Indie game and Iggy is at the top of the mainstream your chances of success are less and less every day.

    12. I hate that he is called the former co-owner of The Source. He didn’t pay a dime into it and just forced his way using threats and violence. Benzino is the cause of the Source’s downfall. They got a hell for hip-hop?

    13. I love how people try to make this into a black/white thing, don’t you all realize EVERYTHING IS ABOUT SEX not color, blame yourself as the consumer for letting there be a decline in Hip Hop

      1. I just want you to know that wifey read your comment, laughed at you and said “they stupid”.

Explain your sentiment. I bet you’ll reveal it’s MEDIA you mean before you can say it’s sex over racism.

        Your turn.

      2. I get it man everything is about sex….like I love to have sex…. That’s all I think about is sex all day long…. I got it bro…….lol

    14. Ben: hey wasnt it funny how you ripped my “career” apart and made me more famous than I had ever hoped to be

Em: Can I get a check for that, youre welcome

    15. The only history made was Eminem went on to sell millions while Benzino faded into obscurity. That said, he seems like an ok dude now that his rap career is over. He knows he was in over his head. Most rappers would still carry that grudge. He moved on and only wants the chance to sit down and tell Eminem how much he loves white people.

    16. Benzino is still begging for a sit down? It’s been 11 years dude, let it go.

As for the rest of the article, it never ceases to amaze me how delusional this guy is. He threatened to kill the man’s daughter, accused him of being a Nazi and tried his utmost to destroy his career. The only person that blew the whole beef out of proportion was Benzino himself (never mind that Eminem was the most popular rapper on the planet at the time, he honestly thought he wouldn’t come off worse?). His argument at the time was also incredibly flawed. For those that don’t remember, his point was that Eminem was sucking up all the sales from Black artists. This was the year after Nelly released his 7x platinum Nellyville and hip hop in general was enjoying very healthy sales (at the time it seemed like every MC and his dog was going at least platinum!). He also damn near buried The Source magazine and destroyed its entire credibility pursuing this point. At the end of the day, the dude just wanted to give his career a shot in the arm and that I understand (hip hop is a sport after all). But you can’t make up a fake conspiracy, attempt to destroy a man’s livelihood then say it’s no big deal after you’ve come to your senses. The fact that he trying to boast about confronting and intimidating a magazine editor (these people aren’t exactly known for being hardcore gangsters) shows just how little he has grown. The fact that he is acting like a groupie and a Stan since Eminem made it clear he wouldn’t be paying him any attention just shows how washed up he really is.

    17. This guy did ever thing in his power to destroy Em’s career and that didn’t work out to well now he loves Em! Jumps back on his dick for what?? Your done son!!! Done!!! Get over it!!

    18. Ray Benzino… 1/3 or 4th actually of Made Men, 1/3 of The Hangmen 3, was also in Yhe Almighty R.S.O., maybe he had a flashback and wants to dust off an old song he did with Faith ‘You Could Be My Boo’… Em said it best in ‘Nail In The Coffin’, “let it go dawg, IT’S OVER” LET IT GO HOMIE! Just keep doing ya show, Hip Hop Weekly, stay out of the way of bullets also!

    19. This faggot been taking L’s his whole “career”.Best time was when he was on tour with the Gangstar foundation, he was talking shit about how hard he was when Bumpy Knuckles got up and put a gun in his mouth, that nigga pissed his pants ROFL.

    21. Not sure if it’s a weird coincidence or not, but Em hasn’t released a great album since the Benzino beef, and now, a decade later, Em’s legacy is ruined by a line of bad records in a row (Encore, The Re Up, Relapse, Recovery, BME, MMLP2, etc.)I hate to say that Benzino “ultimately put an end to Slim Shady”, as Benzino says in one of his diss tracks, but… I mean… like I said, maybe it’s just a coincidence. Surely Benzino couldn’t have shook Em to the point where he just had a nervous breakdown? I’d really rather NOT believe that, because I can’t stand Benzino (he acted like a racist jerk), and I used to be an Em Stan too, so if anyone has any better ideas please offer them because that option is just too depressing to contemplate.

      1. Maaaan WTH are you talking about????? If Selling millions of albums, and releaseing record topping albums is your definition of being shook….you might need to get a new dictionary…..Really.
