Joey Bada$$ taught at New York University Friday (February 19), according to XXL.
The 21-year-old New York rapper spoke to 300 students and shared insight into his career as an independent artist. He also rapped a verse for the crowd.
“Start telling your schools & universities to send them lecture offers in!” he wrote on Twitter with a picture of himself at the lectern. “We raising the bar #2016!”
Joey Bada$$ is scheduled to speak at Harvard University next week.
Other rappers to speak at colleges include Lil B, who has given lectures at UCLA and other schools; Chance the Rapper, who spoke at Harvard; and Killer Mike, who discussed his career with students at MIT.
