R. Kelly Before Walking Out Of Huff Post Live Interview: “I Did Not Come Here To Get Interrogated”

Before walking out of a Huff Post Live interview today (December 21), R. Kelly said, “I did not come here to get interrogated.”

A little more than six minutes into her interview with the Chicago singer-producer, Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani asks him about fans who are conflicted about supporting his music. She then asked him what he thought about that stance.

“I say, ‘Fuck that,’” he said. “I say I have a lot of fans around the world that love R. Kelly and I’m glad they don’t feel the way she do.”

Modarressy-Tehrani then references the multiple allegations of his having sexual relations with minors and R. Kelly says that he doesn’t see any negativity.

“Everywhere that I’ve been, I get nothing but love — unless all of those people are tricking me and acting when they see me come in a concert,” he says.

“I love even those that come against me,” he added. “I love people that hate me.”

    R. Kelly, who said he was there to be interviewed about his The Buffet album that was released December 11, said that the interview with Modarressy-Tehrani had become negative.

“I’m going to let you know that any other negative things that come at me as far as negativity,” he said, “I’m gonna get up and I’m gonna walk out and I’m gonna go to McDonald’s, hopefully the McRib is out, and I’m gonna go home to Chicago and I’m going to play me some basketball, go to the studio and, just you know, work on my next album.”

Modarressy-Tehrani then asked R. Kelly, “would you say you have a healthy relationship with sex?”

    R. Kelly did not appear to answer the question.

“I did not come here to get interrogated,” he said. “I didn’t come here for a deposition….This sounds sort of like a deposition…This is not about R. Kelly. This is not about music. This is not about someone who works hard on his music who has an album out. This is about trying to interrogate me and this is about, you know, disrespect.”

    R. Kelly Discusses The Buffet

At the beginning of the interview, Modarressy-Tehrani asks R. Kelly about what influenced the making of The Buffet.

“I’ve created longevity musically,” R. Kelly said. “I’ve got all kinds of generations listening to my music, so when I’m looking over my audience when I’m on stage, I see younger, middle age and older. So, in order for me to satisfy those different generations, I had to come up with something and Buffet was it, all different genres of music to fit different genres of people.”

The Illinois artist also says that album sales will continue decreasing given the ease of getting the music for free online.

“That’s going to hurt the artists,” he says, “me, and a lot of artists out there.”

    1. I like rkelly but dont say hes innocent when hes not. Plenty of.videos out there of him eating pussy and fucking them girls. Rkelly is still the king though, it was such a long time.ago.they need to drop it

    2. If you were in the Chicago music scene in 90s (especially before he blew up to major superstardom), then you knew R. Kelly wasn’t innocent. It was a public secret, sort of like how Chicago politics works in general. Looking back, yeah it’s kind of messed up. But at the time it was like that’s what he does and it’s none of your business. It wasn’t the social media era. Was always a fan of his music though even though his personality behind the music was off-putting.

    3. I am listenin 20 years to R. Kelly, i am supportin every album he has dropped. I don´t know him personally so i can judge him and on the otherside he´s a superstar and we all know what the media can do to a man – f.a. MJ. I love his music, he´s the King of RnB. No court has found him guilty and that is important. So stop hatin and welcome to the Buffet! 🙂

      1. How old was Aaliyah when they got married? 16……..Just because its legal in some states doesn’t mean its not scumbag shit

    4. For all those proclaiming his innocence, just consider if his actions in this interview are those of an innocent person with nothing to hide….

    5. Kelly is innocent. Ignorant people are a disease. The media has one objective , if you fail to understand this, you are blind. As for Kelly’s music, it’s incredible , his talent goes above all singers, if youre gonna interview an established star, produce news on their profession, though as Dave Chappelle said “I want to pooh on you”☺

      1. He married Aaliyah at 16…do you not see anything wrong with that? Does it not make the other shit he’s been accused of sound like there miiiiiiiiiight be some truth to it?

    6. Shameless paedophile, goes about molesting kids. He deserves jail big time, it’s a shame on the judicial system that allowed this idiot to be walking free after harassing kids sexually.
