Puff Daddy says that he’s most proud of working on two albums.
The producer cited his work on Mary J. Blige’s 1995 album, My Life, as a project that taught him as an artist.
“It really got me understanding the concept of seeing sounds, how much music can affect your emotion,” Puff Daddy said of the album, which he executive produced with Andre Harrell, during an #AskDiddy session at the REVOLT Music Conference in Miami Saturday (October 18). “If you’re gonna sing, you need to sing, and make something people can relate to. And that album’s gonna be played forever.”
Puff Daddy says that The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1997 album, Life After Death, also holds special significance for him.
“Lyrically,” he says, “it set the bar and the standard.”
Puff Daddy executive produced Life After Death and released it on his Bad Boy Entertainment imprint.
