T.I. Discusses Performing For 50,000 People In Tanzania

Sitting down with the hosts of “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show,” T.I. addressed his recent travels to Africa for a performance in Tanzania in an interview that also touched on his role in resolving a social media beef between Snoop Dogg and Iggy Azalea.

“It was magnificent,” T.I. said of the experience of performing in the East African country. “Just to see 50,000 of our people, all gathered for a positive reason, to come to see me. Everybody just rocking. A sea of Black people rocking.”

When asked if the crowd was familiar with his work, T.I. said, “Absolutely, they turned all the way that way,” while pointing to the sky.

Later in the interview, T.I. described his reality show as an opportunity to show the world a different side of himself and combat his public image as a “troublemaker.”

“That was one of the main reasons we decided to do the show because we felt that if there would be judgements being placed, it should be fair and just,” he said. “I felt like, people’ll take a headline or a moment in my life and they’ll judge me just based on that, ‘cause that’s all they know. So we had to give’em more to observe so they can analyze from a place of intellect.”

On his role as a mediator between Snoop Dogg and Iggy Azalea, T.I. hinted that the conversation was easy-going.

“It wasn’t a stiff conversation that had to be had,” he said of speaking with Snoop Dogg. “It was just me reaching out to a long-time, respected associate and long-time partner. As soon as I reached out to him he knew what I was talking about and he took it upon himself, out the goodness of his heart, to approach the situation the way he did.”

I have a very close friend I actually work with , you know like hourly wage & he is from Africa & he loves to tell people no American black man is welcome to live in Africa . To him & most they are cockroaches . His words not mine . I don’t eve get it . But T.I. On some shit like this is a fucking joke . Yes they all went to the concert , but as my fried said , if it was Elton John it would have sold out as well.

      1. You are clearly uninformed. There is no animosity towards the Black American by any Black Africans. If anything, we perceive Black Americans to be condescending towards us, which is messed up obviously.

    2. Fuckin hater ass Mr. Pibb…your friend is an idiot and that just explains why both yall friends. you think Africa is a fucking fishbowl with your uninformed ass. you just cant stomach that there is a following for TIPs music in Africa or are you deliberately hating without facts. you marshmallow ass nigga. I am from South Africa, been around the world twice and trekked Africa 4 times – black people are black people, believe it or not there is black people that actually support black artists – rap is the best selling music in the world and its been big in Africa since the days of De la pre 2pac. so sit you ass down an learn something. Africa has love for T.i. so quit tryna throw shade with no fact.

    3. Why do African Americans always say Africans hate them? That’s furthest from the truth, young Africans look up to African Americans, they listen to all your music, buy your sneakers and have billboards of Lebron and other famous niggas all over the place.
And African bitches love the accents, you getting laid far easier than typical African down there, access to they hottest bitches just coz what they see on TV

      1. Amen Violator…now hope that convinces one track mind Mr Pibb…Africa loves to see blacks get successful it motivates us to get out of the trap dummy.
