For the first time in months, Iggy Azalea has been knocked off of the #1 spot on the Hip Hop and R&B singles sales charts. Nicki Minaj’s latest single, “Only,” jumped to #1 in its first week of availability thanks in part to guest spots from Drake and Lil Wayne. Even though Azalea’s “Black Widow” fell to #2, the Australian rapper had her own separate victory with her single “Beg For It” breaking into the Top 10 with plenty of room left to climb. The change in Top 10, which included a spike in sales for Michael Jackson’s smash “Thriller,” knocked singles from Drake, Rich Gang, and Rae Sremmurd off the Top 10.
Nicki Minaj Takes Over #1
After battling for the spot over the last few weeks with her single “Anaconda” (which dropped to #10 last week) Nicki Minaj has taken over the #1 slot with her new track “Only.” With features from Drake and Lil Wayne, “Only” quickly sold a total of 75,854 last week alone beating out the rest of the chart in the process.
The song, which is the third single from Minaj’s upcoming The Pinkprint album, is one of 25 tracks that the rapper says she recorded for the album. In an interview with V Magazine, Minaj said she’s currently whittling down the tracklist for the release. “My biggest problem with this album, believe it or not, is finding out what the hell I can lose,” she said, “because all the songs are so freaking special and they all mean something.

Iggy Azalea Loses The Top Spot
Even though her single dropped to #2, “Black Widow” saw a 3% increase in sales last week with 67,018 of the song sold last week. After 28 weeks on the chart, this was the first time in months that Azalea surrendered #1 but she raised the total sales of the song to 1,796,588 in the process, the most a new song of the current Top 10 has sold.
Meanwhile, farther down the list, Azalea’s newly promoted single “Beg For It” is quickly climbing and entered the Top 10 at #8 for the first time last week.
Jeremih And YG In The Top 3
With Nicki Minaj displacing the top spot, Jeremih and YG’s “Don’t Tell ‘Em” single fell to #3 after consecutive weeks as the runner up. The 63,395 units sold last week was a 2% drop from the previous and brought the collaborative single up to a total of 1,122,660 sold.
