The city of Boston has a longstanding history of championing lyrically infused Hip Hop to differentiate themselves from other regions and Black Madeen is no exception to the rule. The veteran duo consisting of Yusuf Abdul-Mateen and Al-J are all set to release their newest project, Supreme Aftermath, on January 15, which will cover relevant topics such as Islamophobia in the media.

“This is Hip Hop, first and foremost,” Yusuf says of the new album. “One doesn’t need to be a Muslim or a Five Percenter or whatever to feel it. Music is universal.”

Supreme Aftermath is currently available via Rhyme Dawah for pre-order on iTunes and its release date will coincide with an album release party in Boston.

The album’s first single, the Planet Asia assisted “Guerrilla Soldiers” is available for streaming, courtesy of a HipHopDX world premiere.
