Rap Genius has become one of the most popular lyrics sites over the past year. Not only do they provide lyrics, but they provide insight and the in-depth meanings to each line of a song. Rap Genius also allows artist themselves to go in and verify that those annotations are indeed correct with verified artist account and Nas was the first artist to have a verified account on the site.
“So many times we sing the wrong lyrics and we don’t know what [a song] means,” Nas tells Forbes. “That’s cool, but what I want to do is make myself available to correct and explain any line or any verse or any chorus and what I meant.”
