And how can you hate WTT? We finally have something to listen to besides someone talking about just cars, clothes, hoes, and weed or is that all people wanna hear these days? Well i'm tired of all dat goofy shit, and WTT is the relief to dat shit. Jay and Yeezy on to some new, better shit!

  • T-Walk22

  • Anonymouse

this is real terrible, worst song on that album

  • Kenny Rios

  • Ryan Djzzero Eusebio

No offense this track wasn't that great. I seriously think this album was really overrated. The album was really overrated, i'm pretty sure many hiphop artist would agree with me. But beyonce did make this track more listenable.

    • Anonymous

naw he's right...album is overrated its just because its ye and jay...eventhough im a big fan of both of them I dont like the fact that they can release sub-par music and get away with it.....people just ain't real these days inside and out of the industry..album=barely 3/5 stars

    • Anonymous

If it's so overrated then why is selling so damn good?

  • mike

  • feed up

fuck all you motherfuckin dumbasses. all yall fuckin do is hate on everything, including your mom. yall would hate on someone even if they gave you a million dollars for no reason. fucking stupid ass kid. grow the fuck up or come to house & get fucked up. I tired of all this people complaining about this & that. don't like it??? ignore it.

    • Adam J-Boogie Amin

interesting, why are you worried about what others think? why are you so defensive about that others think, their opinions and views? I agree that if people dont like something that they not bash it. but even your are guilty of this so called "Hate" and being a "motherfuckin dumbass..." for the things you dont like bet yet have an opinion of. So instead of getting hostile, try articulating why you think this track is good. As a matter of fact, that last point goes for all. Whether you like the song or not, articulate why and start an intellectual debate. This mindless banter about "you hate money, you hate real hip hop" is just stupid.

  • Anonymous

...with an unorthodox, non 4/4 beat like this...you need to either use a delivery that sharply cuts right through it or a flow that dances around in the pocket, yet landing on the snare...not to mention...injecting provocative lyrics to at least mesh better with the epic feel of the track...the only reason why BEYONCE OWNS THIS TRACK was...she was the only one on the song REALLY TRYING!!!

    • Adam J-Boogie Amin

@ lol, that was by far the most useless comment I have seen on any post. your response shows that you have zero knowledge on the subject the original poster was talking about. I dont think Kayne blows, but he mumbled on this track. the end of all of his lines tailed off into a mumble instead of the usual punch he gives. I've never been a fan of "B" but she did show how you really sing on this track. And the track is forgettable. 5 min after listening to it, nothing stands out other then the spaceship count down at the end. Was Jay even on this track?!?! (the previous sentence was factious and sarcastic) I find both Jay and Ye can come up with great concepts but this one fell short for me. I'm not going to rate because I dont want to be classified as a "Hater" haha.

    • Jeremy

Yeah, Kanye blows and always has. Jay-z is falling off.

    • lol

Lol ok expert, lets see what you got?

  • pookie

AMAZING i dont think people appreciate good music anymore

  • Anonymous

    this shit is hoot

  • Josh J

THIS SONG IS LYRICALLY WHACK ASS HELL BUT BEYONCE HAD A BAD HOOK BUT SHE MADE THE BAD SOUND GOOD. THE BEAT WAS ON POINT THOUGH SOUNDS LIKE SOME GRADUATION STUFF.

  • Anonymous

LOVE THIS SONG. ITS WAY ABOVE YOUR HEADS I SEE. 5/5 EASY!!!

  • Anonymous

YOU DONT LIKE THIS, BUT LIGHTERS WITH "BRUNO MARS" WAS DOPE EH.....GTFOH

  • Anonymous

BEYONCE OWNS THIS SONG. BADDEST BITCH IN THE GAME.

  • Jermaine Guidry

THE BEAT ALONE IS GOOD ENOUGH 4ME!

  • Anonymous

if u buy bootleg or copy from ya manz bootleg this aint for u the target audience is people who have and spend money to be entertained by feel good music, let me help u relate its like in the streets what u gonna sell work they gonna pay for to get money or work nobody really buying ,which means u getting slow money if any money @ all

  • Anonymous

how many people you know that would take it this far!!!!!!

  • carlos

Beyonce made this song slightly listenable.

  • daboo

    estas jugando la vida hermano

  • Paul David

Lol at the people defending this song. It's not an interlude. It's not a intro. It's just a bad song. Artists make less than dope or average songs. Get over it, you Stans.

  • Sopra

This is the equivalent of the BME /w Bruno Mars song, there always has to be a lame pop song in an album or else it wouldn't sell

  • Anonymous

    Mother.Fucking.Gay

  • Sam-Alexis

I think the rap verses are a bit soft.

  • AnnaAlex

    not good for me, overrated.....

  • Diee Haard

the production is bananas, but Yeezy was defo half asleep when he worte his verse

  • Senor Santiago

weak. soft. gay ish. come on jay. you always do something mind blowing then follow up with a couple gay ass high school pool party joints for the surburban girls. this is not doin it for me at all.

  • jj

the whole album is hard it's worth the money.

  • Josh Firestone

WTF did Ye just say?! My bad Jay but I couldnt even make it to your part

  • Six

wtf? ok, im a huge fan of jay and kayne... but seriously this song sucks. There is literally no lyrical content in this song at all. Kayne had close to a whole verse where he says "know me, know me by now" over and fucking over again. That's just lazy. "How many niggas wit’ me up in the neon? How many people wanna roll a Neon?" Really? He couldn't find one more word that rhymed with Neon? I mean, for an album that's supposed to be the album of the year they could've tried just a little harder. Shit just doesn't sell for me.

  • Juice

Shout outs to Naija and Africa on this beat!! Don Jazzy MoHits baby!!!

  • ananan

i could write a better verse than ye, hot beat, hot hook, alright rap song cuz of jay

  • Josh Rousseau Rainsford

  • Jerrell James

Love this. Got it stuck in my head.

  • JJ

If this was a Beyonce song featuring Jay & Kanye it couldve been something really big

  • PRINCEJIMMY11

If you rated this shenanigans over a 1 then you're rating the popularity of the artist and not the actual music because this was bleach to the mouth, fork to a plate, knife to a tire, heat oxygen & fuel together to form an combustion bad:I mean this was historically bad: Still cleaning the blood from my ears:Jay-B is the worst: 1/5

no typo, you butch ass niggaz

To all the cry babies saying this is an interlude, its a fucking song, track 2 of the album, so go eat a fat DICK butches

    • Anonymous

what im trying to say is this song is DEFINATELY not an interlude. Check the credits

    • Anonymous

dmx had a song labeled intro on his album it was one of the best songs on the album just because it says track 2 that dont mean its not a inturlude

  • Anonymous

One of the best songs of the year, epic. When i make a movie this is going to be in that shit at the most epic moment, im callin grammy for this shit.

  • John45/23

I'm not even gonna pay attention to bs close minded comments on here. This song is awesome, album is flat out brilliant. 5/5

  • Mind Wars

If you listen to the album it has something for everyone. The album accomplishes what it is suppose to, REACH MASSES. It gives something to all fans; songs for clubs, songs for people to “bump”, songs with connotation and double entendres, songs addressing current events. Not too mention the underlying meaning that they want to see other blacks succeed. They want their people to understand you need to drop your current mindset and maybe lose a few friends that won’t be willing to pursue success in order to be a successful black man. “I tried to teach n***as how to be kings all they ever want to be is soldiers”

  • ssssssssss

this is a intro?really?long ass intro haha.yeah right.listen to any intro off of Section80..thats where the bar stands.album of the year.anything less is dookie.i would feel gay as hell bumping this disco shit in my car

  • Anonymous

i hate this album to many metaphors and double meanings the block dont get shot up no traditional rap beats at all jay not sellin crack,i dont like songs with meaning and about real life i want crack stories so what jay 40 get back to that block shit stop name droppin shit i cant afford wtf is M.O.M.A

  • NO NAME

    truly a great album

  • Adamn

Least favorite track on the album. 3 stars.

  • Anonymous

why did hiphopdx put up a inturlude thats all this is if you listen to the entire album the song was made for the tour lol thats all.this is to get the crowd hype beyonce come out for 3mins boom crowd in a frenzy then back to the real shit .BIG shout out to jay and kanye for murder to excellence and mentioning D.J HENRY R.I.P if you dont know who he is look him up very sad way to go just shows you how far this country has think it has gone with race relations REAL rap is back.

    • Anonymous

stan i was just looking at the facts of it they didnt want the album to leak so this is really not a song if you listen to the entire album. and what artist do your mother like is she a stan or dick rider go read a book

    • riiiiiiiiiight

lol whatever dude...these jay stans are way too funny. always have an explanation for everything...well its a wack interlude then...what else you got?

  • Brffa

I don't think many people get what they are trying to do. This is not meant to be a purist rap album. They are attempting to do something avant-garde. I would call this experimental hip hop. This is the type album you have to be patient wit and take time. I think Ye and Jay should have taken more time wit each track and tweaked it to perfection. These tracks could be great but most are only good. Take this track for instance. Beyonce is not a good choice for da hook. You need a soulful voice, maybe a male voice and since the lyrics are meant to be sparse, they needed to be bold and strong. Each bar needed to hit hard. Also the last 30 seconds of the song had a feel that the whole song should have had. Those are just my two cents of constructive criticism.

  • Midifingaz

Ehhh... Well Beyonce did her thing.

  • Anonymous

i don't think you people are capable of understanding this

  • bkjay119

y are ppl trippin. This is obv an intro

  • DeShawn Griffin

ima HUGE jay-z fan but this shit is ack him and beyonce should only make slow songz without kanye, j-cole reminds me of THE OLD JAY-Z STRAIGHT CLASSIC

  • gimmicks

by the way, what happened to Death of Autotune and all that bandwagon nonsense from BP3? sure is some major autotuning on this album..lol

    • toppa shot

Word! Death of Autotune was an idea Kanye & NO ID came up with. Jay pretty much rolling with whatever Kanye does these days to stay relevant. This album plays out more like a Kanye album featuring Jay.

I just paid $21.87 for an iPad 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $657 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, http://bit.ly/nzgzEi

beyonce hook ruins it, im not on that pop shit, TRUEST SHIT EVER said, i'd rather hear the beat than beyonce's hook, this is on some all of the lights type of shit like c'mon.

  • Real

Honestly, the worst track on the album.

    • Real

Actually, it grew on me a little, so worst track is "made in america" ... I ain't feeling Frank Ocean (overrated). Best track I say is "I got watcha need." Love that track. Huge Kanye and Jay fan so i'm lovin' the album. They gonna kill it down here in Miami Nov. 14! Can't wait!

  • thekidflames

Ehhh. It's cool, I guess. Not completely, 100% feeling Beyonce's hook. Album is still copped, regardless.

    • Sensaye252

This is America asshole. Furthermore, this is Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop is about expressing yourself. This mentality that any opinion that's not favorable is 'hating' is fuckin' stupid and destructive to both music and our society. You're just a punk ass yes man.

    • Anonymous

It's Jay and Kanye, so we have to listen to it, because it could be dope. But it's not, and we're just stating our opinions. So fuck off.

  • Anonymous

take it too the moon, this song is just plain boring, trying to make money outer of dumm folks

  • geminiman7

U can't be serious. This is awful.

  • LOL

to all those people saying you need surround sound or beats by dre headphones, go and eat a dick. Thats just a lame ass excuse because this song/album is wack as fuck. BME shitted all over this and still is shitting all over this, and will remain shitting all over this!

    • Anonymous

beats by dre are horrible headphones so I don't know why you would need to listen through them.

    • ROTMFFLMMFAO

LOL took the words right out of my mouth. This song and whole album is straight GARBAGE.

    • cmon son

      some people cant read

    • Anonymous

thas not the piont the post was about how well the album was engineered not the contents of the album it sounds good on surround sound some albums sound dull in surround sound that dosent mean the album sucks listen to 36 chambers in surround sound you wont like it to much but it still is a classic album

    • Young

if you have to listen to it on surround sound to make it sound good then it shouldn't be listened to, music is supposed to be made so it translates well to ALL formats.... btw verses are garbage... n thats comin from a white kid

    • Anonymous

u dont listen to music in surround sound i guess

  • dts

the beats are to epic to be held back by 2 speakers the engineering on this album alone is worth the buy

  • soso

Another reason to get the RED ALBUM from Game... this is soooooo below level

  • wowoowo

as one of the earlier post stated...i suggest some of you invest in beats by dre headphones or utilize your surround sound system...the way this track and others on the album are put together is absolutely ridiculous

  • Anonymous

    THIS IS A INTURLUDE

  • mcmastermind

I don't think this meets the criteria to be considered as a rap song. That being said, I don't listen to this type of music so I have no idea how to grade it. Personally I would never bump it. Whatever. Check out the AP and Premo track.

  • ninjasinparis

watch the throne is absolutely crazy! download the full album at thisisbuckwild.com

  • G MON

You got hip-hop, then you got hip-pop. JayZ and Kanye are what I like to call the "Top 40 version of HipHop."

    • Brffa

That song by Apathy was not that good. It sounds like 99.9% of all the underground rap songs that will go nowhere. I'm not saying this song by Jay and Ye is the dopest, but there is still some unique genius within it that makes it at least interesting.

    • bisquic

That song is so fucking dope, makes this sound like shit.

    • G MON

Here's some real hiphop that just dropped today, these two cats will eat Jay and Ye any day. Hip pop faggots. Now this on the otherhand is fire: http://www.2dopeboyz.com/2011/08/08/apathy-stop-what-ya-doin-f-celph-titled-prod-dj-premier/

  • MAXXXXXOOUUUUTTTTT

LIKE I SAID BEFORE................... After reviwing this album, S&P downgraded Jay-Z's lyrical ability from AAA to B-. DAMMMMMMMMMMNNNNN. It's SAD AF. Got a Nigga "out here Brett Farving" - Andre 3000

  • Anonymous

Beat sounds like a fucking phone alarm clock.

  • Brett Zupka

Why duz Kanye do that mumblin shit???

  • unanuan

You all will think tha carter 4 will be great though.

  • Unanaoun

why so much fucking hate? This song aint that great the rest is greaat though.

Am yet to listen to the album, so i wont rush into conclusion. Still my top 5 so far, 1. Saigon- Greatest story never told 2. BME- Hell: The Sequel 3. Tech n9ne- All 6's and 7's 4. kendrick Lamar- Selection 8.0 5. Tyler The Creator- Goblin I hope WTT makes my Top 5, the comments am seeing(not only on dx) are mostly mixed reviews.

    • Anonymous

Add Vakill's ''Armor Of God'' and ''R.E.K.S.'' to this list.

    • ItsTheTruth

My friend you need to check out W.A.R. (We Are Renegades) from Pharoahe Monch that dropped earlier this year, that is a top 5 release of the year. September 27th gonna be big too, Big Krit, J Cole, and Yelawolf all dropping debuts

  • WHAT THRONE????

WHAT THRONE ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT? LYRICALLY? NO PRODUCTION? NO COMMERCIAL SUCCESS? NO IT IS A LONGEVITY THING???? THEY ARE NOT THE BEST OUT BY ANY MEANS...

  • bisquic

I really tried listening to this, but I just can't. Jay is such a cocky asshole the only shit I've ever heard him on where he sounds legitimately humble is Reasonable doubt and that shit is pretty good...but Blueprint, Black Album, and anything else people say is classic?...sorry no.

  • sun_god7

Finally heard the whole album...not a classic hiphop album. To early to tell, anyway. But its a good album. I thought it would be wack - but its really good. Not the best lyrics, but it comes together with the beats making up for it. Not Jay's best lyrics. On most tracks it feels like Kanye out rhymes Jay. Jay may not have subject matter to talk about anymore. It's felt like that with him for 5 years now. Sounds like beats that could of been a part of Kanye's last album. But they're good, overall. Nobody does what Kanye does, today. All this to say, Where the hell is Mos Def?!?

  • Anonymous

if you dont have surround sound you missing out this album sonically is on fire

WTF ??????? IVE JUST LISTENED TO Watch the throne, and entirely, and its just shit. I mean its a good cd, they got good songs but thats just that. People talked too much... FUCK ALL THOSE RAPPERS WHO SAID IT WAS GOING TO BE CRAZY. Suck my dick you fools !! Watch the throne : 3/5

  • G'

It's a cool track indeed. It fits what it needs to do...I am tried of Beyonce though; thus, ranking it lower on that...good melody and hook. It is on some movie status...like the opening credits, so props on them if they chose the song based on that merit

Very wise words sir...Idk about the 2012 run, but its definitely aimed at converting listeners. I just wish more traditional hip-hop fans actually understood what the goal of this album is.

    • sun_god7

Read your link. This is exactly why the album will sell and actually may be the informal soundtrack for Obama's 2012 run. People that are not necessarily hiphop heads will like the album. At the end of the day - the point is to convert the unconverted - and the album will do that.

dudes can't help that the reputation precedes them they both have extremely high expectations that will never be met unless you listen to it the way you once did . Forget about the names and what you have heard and listen to it. with no expectaions. if it's not for u and u can't jam it then don't but I don't want to hear your negative crap. It's not the music's problem it's your problem with the music. Plenty of people will be able to get in they ride and roll the windows down and rock it all the way up, some won't. I will and i'll be burning the best while I leave the record store parking lot.

Kanye West is talented and a great producer and blah blah blah but he's just an unlikeable guy. I just can't sit through a whole album of this nigga. All that wack ass singing and shit...come on man...why do people think that shit is dope? Hova, go solo homie, Kanye ain't fit to be your co-pilot.

Kanye is a genius. But I'm really disappointed about this project. Expected much more from these two. Jay sounds like everybody else could, nothing left of his once amazing flows and lyrical abilites. Kanye lacks complete creativity and you gotta ask yourself what happened to the guy who produced all these classics. This sounds unsinspired, generic and is executed in a bad way. The rapping on BME instead was too fucking amazing to be ignored. The lyrical firestorms on there were out of this world. Some of the best flows I've ever heard. Cadence, breath control, wordplay, this project was one of the best of all time from a technical standpoint. Jay and Kanye had to bring it on the creativity, but there's nothing to be excited over when talking about this project.

like i have to say this the production quality on this shit is amazing hip hop mixed with orchestra music. sure jay and ye dont rap on it much but maybe that was the point. and im sure they produced this shit together. DAMN THIS BEAT IS FUCKING AWESOME. I love this shit , good shit kanye and jay btw beyonce has a beautiful fucking voice.

  • saint

Kanye West albums are only good with a shitload of guest rappers. He really should just produce. And Jigga man, I know u a legend & all, but just... just retire man. Again. And the track, it's terrible. (I hate Beyonce, over-produced beats, r'n'b, auto-tune & sloppy rapping, so I hate this song)

Honestly, the album was alright. Overhyped though. I like a few songs and especially Gotta Love It, Primetime, No Church. Many songs had too much production going on which was disappointing. Welcome to the Jungle was a good song except the fact that the beat sounded unfinished but at times sounded amazing. Overall id give the album 3/5

  • WestCoast

kanye wack rapper+autotune bullshit BME = high level

  • Arsonist

The entire album sounds like Kanye West Ft. Jay-Z. New Day is my shit though.

Bunch of immature haters............ This album is a master piece!!!!!!!!!!! Bad meets evil should not even be concidered next to this.... Thats dumb it down raps to basic beats this shit is advanced beyond what you cant see...If you produce any type of music you would see this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8.5 out 10

    • Fado

A masterpiece?, really though?, you know that's the highest word of praise you can give too a piece or body of art?, you just put this album on the same level as the mona lisa... then you contradicted yourself by giving the album an 8.5 out of 10, if it was a masterpiece it would be 11 out of 10. And bad meets evil doesn't have "dumbed down raps", you clearly don't know what your talking smh....

  • cmon son

aww man the way they flipped that cassius sample wow

  • tsk tsk

an average album...if you want perspective on this judgment call, play an outkast album and your intelligence will tell you this is almost crap. 3/5

    • tsk tsk

its not a question of purely comparing them, I can appreciate this album but i have to hear it with their prior work in ind, what's obtainable from other cats around now and what other cats have done in the past. if you are old enough to have followed these cats career's you ant help it. the album sounds delibrate, uninspired and forced sometimes like you can hear what they were going for but u dont hear them get there. just my opinion, i dont see why i should be attacked for it. if you think the album is fire then bump it, its ur opinion based on who u r and what u like, i think its meh

    • Anonymous

dont get me wrong i love outkast speaker boxx my fav album both disc but you cant compare legends like outkast to this album they been a group for a longtime maybe if this was jay and kanye 5th album together yeah ok but for the first album this is damn good

    • Fado

play an outkast album compared too an Biggie album and you can tell its almost crap. Things always look worse in comparison too better things lol so whats the point?, Just take the album as is there will be some songs you like and some you dont. I feel like Jay and Kanye are so rich and famous they don't have reason to make really great music, they just experiment with everything. That's the paradox of hiphop artist......

    • tsk tsk

      what about outkast mr. anonymous?

    • Anonymous

      outkast lol

  • MAXXXXXOUTTTTTT

After reviwing this album, S&P downgraded Jay-Z's lyrical ability from AAA to B-. DAMMMMMMMMMMNNNNN. It's SAD AF. Got a Nigga "out here Brett Farving" - Andre 3000

    • Fado

you know how on Moment of clarity Jay Z admitted he dumbed down his music to make more money?, I think hes been doing that for so long he forgets how to be lyrical for real.

  • Fado

Everyone don't let this song make you get too discouraged there are some really dope songs on the album...I dont consider the album a classic though. It is a good album overall.

Kanye West is on another planet...he ready to take this music thing and take it to another level...you know this album was basically produced and directed by him Jay let him have the reigns and Kanye blew it out the water and told jay to jump on with a verse each song

    • ahdlkhsda

am i the only who notices that this song is preparing for the album!! this album is fire wow!! ofcoz they gon talk about their money and wealth coz that is life.. production is crazy! if you think this is wack then i do not know what good is..my opinion!

  • jonnyep

Watch the throne is pretty good but not great.....as all cds today seem to be. Ye's production is slipping and we all know Jay-Z isn't half of what he used to be. IMO the best production on the album was done by the outside producers like RZA and S1

  • Ceasar

I bought the album and the album is amazing! However this is a collab album so on this song Jay doesn't really come out to spit a line, he spits 3 bars and gets cut off....if jay was a little more included im pretty sure this would've been a better song. AND the repetition of the chorus is waaaayyyyy tooooo much.

  • The Future

As far a lyrical ability and wordplay this album is no where near the best, but as far as production I have to give it up for that. It's the best album if we want to talk about production. Bad Meet Evil is better when you put the two elements of music together, but both great albums.

The production on the album is amazing, yet the lack of concept songs really hurts the album. Every song consists of lavish, bragadocious lyrics. I think I've heard 4 songs already where Jay is talking about black cars or black cards. In all honesty, when compared to Eminem and Royce's album, this is barely better, and the only reason is due to the production, but the lyrics are horrible.

    • lmoaaaaaa

no concept WTF you better listen again album is full of emotion/regrets/obsssesion with material items to hide true pain the song why i love you is talking about the old roc roster

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KILL THE WORD "HATER". Why? because IT'S annoying. Believe it or not even if someone has hits or skills it's possible for them to make an album, or a song that may be wack. This song is not very good. But guess what it's only my opinion. You may like it. THE WORD HATER IS USED TO IGNORE, OR TURN A DEAF EAR TO SOMEONE ELSE'S OPINION. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE DOES NOT THINK THE ALBUM IS UP TO PAR DOES NOT MEAN THEIR NOT A FAN. IM A FAN OF BOTH BUT IF THEY SLIPPIN IM GONNA SAY IT. PLUS THAT OTIS SH-T WAS EXTRA WACK. CLUMSY ASS BEAT CLUTTERING UP THE BULLSH-T LYRICS. SOMETIMES FANS WILL DICK RIDE ANYTHING. I MEAN, FOR EXAMPLE, IF IM A NIKE SNEAKER FAN THAT DOESN'T IM GONNA LIKE EVERY THING THEY PUT OUT. BAD MEETS EVIL WAS WAY BETTER AND I DON'T BY EM'S ALBUMS. I DON'T JUDGE ON HYPE, OR BIGGER THAN LIFE PROMOTION CAMPAIGNS OF HUMAN BEINGS THAT TAKE A SH-T LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE. I ALSO DON'T ADD HOW MUCH MONEY, OR HOW MUCH THEIR ON THE RADIO ALL DAY INTO THE EQUATION. I JUDGE ON THE MUSIC. THE ALBUM IS NOT IMPRESSIVE TO ME. TAKE OFF THEIR CELEBRITY AND LOOK AT IT FOR WHAT IT IS STAN'S, IM MEAN FANS.

  • D.C.C.

I think people miss the point of Watch the Throne. Folks seem to think that Ye and Jay have something to prove, that they don’t have a catalog larger and greater than new artists like Kendrick Lamar. This album is about proving they’re the kings, that they can fly across the globe recording an album with producers rappers dream of collaborating with and producing a work that not only shows their hunger and arrogance, but their introspection and relevance. I agree that this is nowhere near the great works of each individual artist, but like I said that isn’t the point; it’s about putting out something so insanely large that it’s not just an album, but an event. It’s about proving their the kings and hate it or love it, the fact that the internets going nuts only proves that point.

    • D.C.C.

MBDTF boring? I mean everyone has their own tastes but the album is about more than music, it transcends the genre. Lyrics aside the production is a work in itself. The problem here is that you still think Kanye is a rapper, when even he knows that the only person he's competing against is The Beatles. So before you start saying he's gay, that the album sucks, or any of that, name a single artist that you enjoy that produces all of his own music and spends as much energy and time making something for you to criticze. Like I said before, the problem is you still think Kanye is a rapper.

    • Anonymous

I dont care what the point was, album was a letdown Only thing to praise about this album is the fact that they avoided the Leak and it actually came out on the day it was released...... For that, Jigga gets a pat on the back from me, but the actual music on the CD is lame, its like Kanye's Dark Fantasy album with added Jay Verses, another boring album that hipsters are gonna overrate the hell out of and a year from nw not even remember it

    the album is dope

  • Alexander Foes

This album can't be a classic. They fucking used autotune.

  • Soulja Fat

Someone please answer me......am i crazy or ignorant to believe the following: 1. Like the guy said below, Frank Ocean stood out more than the stars of the album. 2. Kanye really needs to stick to producing. When he raps it takes away from the production quality. 3. The songs that stood out in production were the RZA and Pharrell co-produced songs. 4. This shit will never ever be a classic. 5. Where the fuck did Jay-Z get his new style of rapping, oh wait, he sounds kinda like a mix of Jay Electronica and J. Cole. 6. I couldn't make it past the third song, I just skipped it til the next Frank Ocean track. 7. This was worse than 808s and Heartbreaks. Ok. That was a joke. 8. It was better than Kingdom Come at least. 9. I'd rather listen to DMX barking for 46 minutes. 10. All this fucking time, you idiots waited for a fucking album with 4 good songs. Sucka niggas.

  • Hater

It sucks that a producer like Kanye took a step back by collaborating with Jay-Z, the Beyonce hook on this song is wack..... Frank Ocean outshines The Throne on their own fucking album, and I fucking hate OF. 1 star

I don't think many of you are listening to this album. listen to it! This album is concept album about reshaping black ideology towards economic prosperity. No long do we have to except the old way. The system ain't against us, our minds are! That old ra ra shit is gone, we gotta grind and grab that money that's out there. Listen to the lyrics people, its a lot of economic revolutionary rhetoric in it. You gotta understand. From front to back these boys discussing the contradictory mentality we have about society. Listen to No Church in the Wild, Niggas in Paris, Murder to Excellence, MAde in America, Welcome to the Jungle. This album is discussing how our negative mentality developed on the block effectively equips us to prosper in the American culture of greed. I'm from the block, got my degree on my way to a top law school in America. I understand what they saying, once we get past the pitfalls of the hood we can go far!

@Detriot2.0, with ur over analysis u struck me like a stan but i decided to give u d benefit of d doubt then u decided to show ur true clours by saying Jay is responsible for Nas still rapping, wat an idiotic n ludicrous statement. U r on of d lil stans dat prolly think Jay owns Defjam as well as the Nets cos u so hoodwinked to a hilt. If u dnt knw, ama brk it down in simple terms,Nas was not hustling to get a label after Cloumbia/Sony records, he even had a President/record deal offer from Craig kallman C.E.O of Atlantic records but decided to go def like Foxy for his own reasons. Jay was just another employee at Defjam albeit d president hence thrs a reason why hes at Sony now n defjam remains. U need to get dat dick outta ur mouth b4 u choke, u got "law skl" waiting for u. U prolly think WTT is a classic too.

    • DetroitTwoPointO

@bisquic I agree with you 100 on the last comment. Been listening to Jay since 96' always used the hood for reflection, but now he taking it farther. It ain't "I'm from the block and this what I went through"...now its " I'm from the block look where I am, and you can get here too"...there is a difference bro. Respect your opinion but I think to many use his discussion of material things as an excuse to not give credit where its due. Why shouldn't he talk about money if he really has it? Not like all these "hood" rappers who talking about things they lease, get repossessed, and could never afford. I just view it as progress bro, he's is the only reason many of our favorite artists are still making music now...back in the day guys was really out by thirty 32-33, now they think they can go to at least 40. He's the reason for that. Nas still dropping bars mainly because Jay made that possible(and even signed him).

    • bisquic

They're reflecting the image of the hood back on itself with shiny sounding synths and pop beats the same thing Jay has been doing for years.

    • DetroitTwoPointO

Not over analyzing many just ain't listening. Lazy ears and minds. That's why it so hard to help people out, they don't listen.

    • bisquic

Bro you analyze these songs wayyyy too deeply.

    • Da Real Carter

So they bit Lil B's "Im Gay" album huh? You're just mad cause Lil B fucked your bitch. SWAG!

  • beatrixkid

    soooooooo. . . . . . . . sick

  • ZiT

This album is HOT...what a CLASSIC

  • Anonymous

I am so happy to be alive right now! Watch the Throne

  • Anonymous

Worst song on the album and DX put it up? Why would you do that!

    • DetroitTwoPointO

It is and the sad thing is this is high quality! Compared to the garbage that these artists be putting out.

  • Mr Flamboyant

(shaking my head) (sigh of despair) Man...I'm reading some of these commments, especially the ones saying that this album is "hot" and that "it's a classic". Y'all music taste sucks or y'all just taste dicks so much just cause these are two "popular" "in crowd" niggas. Seriously. This is just what I thought this album would be. A total piece of over commericalized trash. It's like these niggas actually said to themselves "Let's just spit some of the most redundant, laziest, halfway nonsensical, and totally deprived of anything damn near for the majority of this record under the guise of it being well thought out, carefully crafted...cause niggas will buy this shit anyway just because".... I swear this record is average at the very best. This ish is horrible damn near. And yes, I know you fanatics will say something like "hater" or whatever phrase that you can to vouch for something when you know damn well you can't give a thorough explanation of what makes this actually a "classic" or besides saying it's "hot". That's a crime against you fanatics...not I. My thing is this: expect more. This isn't more...this is less. A couple of good songs doesn't make an album good. This ish is... ...Kingdom Come 2. Just as I thought it was. Damn shame.

    • Paul Welch

I agree. I been listening to rap music sing 1988 and have had my hands on some classic albums. This is not one of them. This is commercialized garbage. I DJ for a living and I won't be playing any of this crap anytime soon. Tech N9ne's album is better than this. Bad Meets Evil is also better.

  • Anonymous

    • JFranks

  • JFranks

After listening to the whole thing my favorite songs are (okay I have a lot, its a good album) lift off, niggas in paris, murder to excellence, who gon stop me, thats my bitch, why i love you, no church, and the joy. I'd give the album like 8/10, maybe 8.5/10

  • philly!!

  • JIGGA YEEZY

    5/5 for the whole album!

  • Sweet Baby Jesus

    SWAGG, I am amazed

  • Mr Flamboyant

I'm gonna give this the benefit of the doubt truthfully. This might be one example of having to hear this song in the sequence of the album. I would think that since it's "Lift Off" that this would be the intro song but it's not. That song with Frank Ocean apparently is. How does that song set off the album? Don't know cause I've yet to hear the album. So I can't truly rate this cut. I can say I wasn't impressed with it standing alone though. Might make more sense when hearing the LP in its entirety.

  • Nathan Charlie

shit i didn't know the album was out, I should pay attention. & also i should work on getting those tickets it would be amazing to see jay again & ye for the first time

  • Powerphi

For all the hype, this is dissapointing track number one. Sounds like they are trying to catch a melody along the tune of "Party" off of B's current album. This is more B than Jay and 'Ye. Hopefully, this will grow on me.

  • Anonymous

don't let this song discourage you this is a great album. this is the worst song on the album

  • Andre Cooper

Nice intro track love it..... Let's go!!!! 5/5

  • don't...

give a fuck what the faggy ass hiphopdx haters are saying, this is going to be an amazing album.

  • Anonymous

of all the songs on the album they post the worst one

  • therealshit22

How can 3 musical legends make a song this wack

  • Blow

This song had to be more about Beyonce's singing skills than Jay and Kanye's rapping skills. That's coming from a huge fan of both artists. Hopefully that's the weakest song on the album.

  • beeloq

first, good track, murder to excellence is the best, or thats my bitch

  • Anonymous

Meh, whatever, I guess it could have been worse

  • Anonymous

wtf r u guys listening to, this song is sick.

  • Hunter J

    Wasn't feeling it.

  • Whutevaman

I'm a fan of both of them, but this is wack. I'm trying to like it. Otis is cool. Not really feelin HAM. I'm coppin the joint but my expectations are sinking by the day.

  • Anonymous

    This is really good

  • Anonymous

wtf? you'd think they would try to make something legendary not wack. this is honestly one of the wackest rap beats i've ever heard. Too slow and weird.

  • Christian Sandoval

  • thought dog

I listened to the whole song thinking this shit is about to get real tight...But it never really went anywhere. Not gonna post any stars but Ill give it a 3.35 and Im a certified Jay-z/Kanye hater.
