Romeo Miller has offered fans insight into what he’s been dealing with while navigating his daughter’s life-threatening condition in a public heartfelt message to his little girl.

On Thursday (November 23), he shared a video montage of River Rose Miller, who was born in February 2022, accompanied by Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” The Instagram post came with a lengthy caption in which he opened up about the delights and challenges of fatherhood.

“We kept things private, but my daughter is one of the youngest people ever to be diagnosed with T1D,” he began. “Type 1 diabetes is a chronic (life-long) autoimmune disease that prevents your pancreas from making insulin. It requires daily management with insulin injections, shots, and blood sugar monitoring just to survive.

“At her age, there are many challenges and random sleep overs at the hospital,” he continued, “but our faith has never wavered and little sister Winter and Mama Drew are always by her side. The silver lining? Our bond is even stronger, because it’s a must I be there for my daughter medically.”

After thanking the medical professionals who have supported his family through their struggles, the New Orleans rapper announced that he will be launching a non-profit that aims to help the T1D community, and will be owned by his daughter.

Miller is a proud father of two and he soaked in his birthday earlier this year by reflecting on some of his favorite moments with his baby girls. The rapper and actor celebrated his 34th birthday in late August with a video collage on Instagram.

He continued: “My wish? To make this planet a better place for our little ones, that’s the ultimate GIFT. La vie est belle! Romans 12:2”

His youngest daughter Winter Snoh arrived in March, a little over a year after her big sister. In an Instagram post announcing her arrival, Miller called fatherhood his “most fulfilling” accomplishment.

“My tribe is growing,” he wrote. “I introduce to you my fearless, intuitive, and ingenious daughter; WINTER SNOH MILLER! My heart is so full knowing that my girls will have each other as they grow. I’m a papa of 2!”
