āThis is the dumbest most irresponsible thing Iāve seen in years, Hip Hop is too dangerous and Hip Hop has always gone against fake shit,ā he wrote.

The fake song, titled āOne Shot,ā initially surfaced online on Monday (April 15), although it was immediately met with skepticism from listeners.
DJ Dahi, who has worked extensive with Kendrick Lamar, tweeted: āMan we live in a weird time, AI diss tracks!! we need Google authentications to make sure all this shit is real or not lol.ā

āI thought people were going to know that it was AI,ā he said. āAlthough it did sound real, it sounded like an old version of Kendrick Lamar.
āIt didnāt sound like his more up-to-date style, at least in my opinion. The style sounded kind of dated, so I just thought that would be a giveaway, but apparently it wasnāt.ā
āI was going to make a Drake track first, but his track leaked, and I didnāt really get around to doing it,ā he added, referencing Drizzyās āPush Ups.ā
Sy The Rapper also explained how he came up with the āOne Shotā lyrics and why he ultimately decided to come clean about the song.

āI just had to place myself in Kendrickās shoes, and it didnāt seem like Kendrick would come out swinging for the kill, considering that the [Drake] song was a āleakedā track,ā he said.
ā[Drakeās leaked diss song] didnāt officially drop. So I was thinking more so in the mindset of, āIf Iām Kendrick, I wouldnāt want to show my hand too early, since this song has been leaked and itās not an official drop, so I canāt just come out swinging. Iāve got to come out with sort of a warning shot.ā

āI really didnāt think it would affect anything, but when I saw that narrative, Iām like, āNah, I canāt just let that rock,ā because thatās just not the truth. Thatās what made me debunk it.ā
Drake has since released āPush Upsā on streaming services, while Kendrick has yet to respond.
