T.I. Explains Justin Bieber's "Transitional Period"

T.I. says he provides advice to Justin Bieber.

T.I. says that he understands the situation Justin Bieber finds himself in, a young celebrity growing into adulthood.

“All of us as adults has had that transitional period where we’ve had to evolve from [adolescence] to manhood,” T.I. says during an interview on The Arsenio Hall Show. "[He’s doing it] in the limelight, in the eyes of the public and all the entrapments that come with being a celebrity and playing with a hundred million [dollars] liquid. It was hard enough for me to become a man with a hundred thousand [dollars]. A hundred million? I can imagine the mistakes that could be made. I just try and offer insight wherever needed.”

Earlier this month, Justin Bieber was accused of being under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and Xanax when police stopped him for allegedly drag racing in Miami Beach, Florida. The singer was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license. Justin Bieber has also been accused of egging a neighbor's house in California and causing thousands of dollars in damages.

T.I. says that Justin Bieber is open to the advice he provides him with.

“When I speak to him,” T.I. says, "he listens with an open ear and I just tell him, ‘Man, everybody’s had that moment where they had to look at themselves in the mirror and say, “Man, something’s got to change. It’s not the environment all the time. Sometimes it’s me.”' He understands and I just told him, ‘You know, you’ve got to pick and choose your times and moments where you can do what you want to do and what you have to do.’”

ALSO, It takes a black man with a negative image to give Bieber advice. Fuck that that's why he's living the life he leads in the first place. He is Africanized. Bottom line.

I BELIEBE YOUR TAKING LIFE TOO SERIOUSLY. DONT HATE ON A YOUNG WHITE DUDE THAT MADE IT!!!

i'm sick of these excuses for bieber. im sick of people saying all people do this moving from kid to grown up. they don't. it's a cop out.

    • ye

I agree to a certain degree. But there's something about growing up in front of millions of fans and having all this money that does this to kids. Teenagers don't really have that control over their minds yet. I think that Justin Bieber is an idiot and is beginning to kill his career, but I can't say that I wouldn't be doing the same shit if i was him. Speaking from the point of view of a man, I think he's making himself out to be a fool. But there's a part of me that is sympathetic.

Two weak ass 140lb pop stars. Tell him how to play it safe n be a studio gangsta like you, TIP

Tip is a family man with millions, when you reach that status and have intelligence you dont need to get arrested just to impress your suburban teen fanbase. Bieber is just trying to impress the blonde teen girls who worship him. Tip is exploiting the relationship for free pub and its working nicely.

What do you mean studio gangster? At the age of 19 Justin Bieber has already caught more charges and court cases than the biggest boss we're seen thus far, Rick Ross!!!!!

This is great publicity for T.I. whos record sales have been on a downside since he released the Grammy nominated King. Bieber is a cultural icon in white America especially amongst females so T.I. would be wise to continue his association with him.

T.I. should become a guidance counselor.

T.I. desperately tries to appeal to white Pop America which is why he has lead singles with Christina Aguilera and put P!nk on his album. His songs with Robin Thicke, Justin Bieber, Eminem, Britney Spears, and Iggy Azalea help keep him buzzing in white Pop America.

I've been a Tip fan since his I'm Serious days, but I have no idea why he's helping this little weasel. He's a punk kid, and he always has been a punk kid. Danny Brown was right, all these rappers reach out to the low lives like Miley and Bieber just so they can make a quick buck. A shame how the rap game has transitioned into this soft phase.

fuck a quick buck dog he already rich as fuck. there is still such a thing as integrity. but nevermind though you probably let a guy fuck you in the butt for a "quick buck"

    • BP

    • detroit slim

Danny just salty cause nobody wanna get down with his smelly, retarded ass but hipsters in ferndale.

Bieber is the second best rapper of all time after Ja Rule.
