N.O.R.E. Says He Understands Lord Jamar's White Rapper Comments

N.O.R.E. accepting of white Hip Hop, but says he understands where Lord Jamar is coming from with his white rapper comments.

According to Queens rapper N.O.R.E., he’s an artist who both understands Lord Jamar’s recent comments on white rappers and also accepts white artists in Hip Hop. N.O.R.E. shared his stance on the Brand Nubian rapper’s much-discussed comments during a video interview published this week with Vlad TV.

N.O.R.E. referred to Lord Jamar as being “correct,” but also took note of the fact that things have changed in Hip Hop since its inception decades ago.

“I believe what he’s saying is correct, but times have changed…I think that you can’t ever really argue with a bunch of fools and be looked at as being smart,” said N.O.R.E. “A wise man told me a long time ago, ‘Don’t ever argue with a fool cause from afar people can’t tell which one is the fool and which one is the wise man.’ Now, I think that Lord Jamar is absolutely right in how the foundation of Hip Hop started. To a certain extent it should remain that way, to a certain extent.”

While speaking on Jamar and his remarks, N.O.R.E. referenced his father and both of his grandfathers. He revealed that due to their age, his grandfathers and his father were set in their ways when it concerned how they felt about people of a different race and/or sexual orientation.

“I welcome white Hip Hop. I welcome that,” said the rapper. “You know what I’m saying? But I see where he’s coming from. As a person who’s—I’m 36. I think Lord Jamar he’s 46 or in his 40s. I’m a couple of years younger, but I see where he’s talking about. So, I know the era he’s speaking about and those people who was doing it at the time. Those four fathers would probably frown on this. You know what I’m saying? But look at it like this. I look at it like this, my father was anti-gay. He was anti anything that resembled gay. Like he had family members in his family he never spoke to because they were gay…What I’m saying is those people can’t be talked out of how they feel. They feel the fuckin way they feel. And that’s it.”

N.O.R.E. also spoke briefly on Yelawolf’s comments geared towards Lord Jamar and stated that it “wasn’t a good thing.” The Alabama emcee told Jamar to “shut the fuck up” during an interview with Vlad TV after the New York lyricist referred to white rappers as “guests in the house of Hip Hop” while speaking with Vlad in September.

“Okay, white rappers, you’re coming to this almost as a guest,” said Lord Jamar. “Okay, matter of fact you are guests in the house of Hip Hop. Just because you have a hit record doesn’t give you the right as I feel to voice your opinion…This is our shit. We’ve allowed you, those of you who’ve proved your skill and all that, we’ve allowed you to come in and kick your shit, make yourself known. You know what I mean? And if you have enough respect for the culture we fuck with you. But don’t push it too far.”

I hate reading the comments on videos based around race. No one can seem to speak rationally and respectfully to another one. There seems to be a cancer of racial collectivism online and it's scary. The ignorance of people in 2013 is frightening. It's from all sides too. We are reaching the end of society with all the hatred and 18th century mentality. If there are truly this many fucked up people on this planet, I want off. And I'm bringing plenty of booze with me.

Whites claiming reverse racism, stack your white rappers against black country singers who has the biggest stack? And don't think there aren't any blacks singers trying to get on, you just don't hear about it because they do a good job shutting them down.

real people can tell the truth and even though im white I realize we have fucked up Rock, Jazz, Blues, Ragtime, Hip Hop, Funk, Disco etc. When we see black people making money we find ways to make more money off of it in a way that does fuck up the integrity of the music but its about business and their are whites that mean well..Rick rubin , steve rifkind .but if your really truthful.Lord Jamar is right. You dont think whites feel that way when blacks come in the grand ole opry. we may like a few black country singers but they are still a guess. Country is a white mans music

    forefathers, DX, not "four fathers".

SMH! Why are they still breathing life in to this bullshit?

  • Anonymous

Think Lord Jamal is very late on this, you only have to turn on the internet and listen to the average dude churning out his opinion. Ever sine Eminem they think they already own this shit and have not much need for underground culture, that is anything that isn't manufactured or being played 24/7 on the radio is considered bum music too gangster or too ghetto basically too fucking real. All they want today is image without sustance, and all these artists today are aiming the majority of their music at the white fan base, this is where were basically at in 2013

  • Anonymous

fuck that shit!!! White people been supporting hip hop since day what get the fuck out of here. Drop the color bullshit and let the skills take forth. So much Reverse racism

  • Lord Whitey

Exactly like the whites let the blacks into our country, speaking freely is a privilege not a right. I got some cotton that needs picking boys- get to it

  • donnis mac

"Sure let the whites in by the droves, there has always been a few whites in the culture we never shunned them from being a part of our culture we are not a hateful insecure people who shun others from our culture like whites do, all we asked the whites that we allowed in our culture was that they respect the culture." ^ absolute truth and many of them do let's use this site for an example. All they had to do was come here and interact, but look at what a lot of them do, destroy the integrity of the comment section with their destructive nature. If you're in charge, then this site is a good reflection of you and what your intentions are with the culture.

Feminem says if he was Black he would have sold "half" which is BS because if he was a Black rapper cross dressing in videos and rapping about having sex with Dr Dre he wouldn't even have no damn career.

Those four fathers? Did NORE hold up four fingers when he said this or are some hiphopdx writers still in elementary school?

Black folks always allow whites into their culture. There are two Egypts for the most part, one Egypt is Ancient Egypt before the outsiders and invaders and then there is the Egypt after the invaders. The greatest collasalls, monuments, tombs, universities and culture existed before the invaders and Egypt was the learning capital of the world and the people within that society had a beautiful indigenous culture with their own language, their own science, their own mathematics, their own diet and their own Gods. ...after the invaders came Egypt was ransacked, tomb-raided, and white-washed; the broad noses were hacked off statues, ancient texts were burned and the building stopped. The culture became something almost unrecognizable to the indigenous people. I use Egypt as an example because when you look at Egypt today she is almost completely Arabized and when you see movies and books they always show these Egyptians as whites even going so far as to say that white Europeons along with aliens built the pyramids....I even heard one lost Soul say that Egypt was in the Middle East instead of in Africa. HipHop started out as an organic indigenous African American artform but it is being white-washed similiar to Rock music and eventually rap music in the mainstream will be 75% white. As of December 2013 the top 10 Hipahop songs of this year are all my a white artist or have a NON African American artist on the song. As of December 2013 every single Grammy category has a non African American artist being nominated for a Grammy. Sure let the whites in by the droves, there has always been a few whites in the culture we never shunned them from being a part of our culture we are not a hateful insecure people who shun others from our culture like whites do, all we asked the whites that we allowed in our culture was that they respect the culture. We allowed them in and now we have gay anthems being nominated for Grammys, Egypt didn't fall overnight so HipHop has a few more enjoyable years with the mainstream.

    • YES !

You spoke the truth on that one, great analogy Anonymous #1 !

    • Anonymous

@HebrweAhkh I'm giving an example of how an indigenous culture was totally whitewashed by invaders and outsiders so badly that most people think Egypyt is in the Middle East and that Arabs & Aliens built the the great monuments. I have seen white publications call Eminem the King of rap and I have heard Eminem refer to himself as a rap God, to me both those instances are irresponsible and erroneous but a perfect example of how the ruling class will always appropriate culture and white wash it to their own specifications to fit their own agenda.

    • Hebrew Ahkh

well said, but, and this is a big BUT, The negros or so-called "african americans" are NOT AND WERE NEVER EGYPTIANS OR KEMETIC. WE ARE THE REAL JEWS AND WE WERE THE SLAVES WHO BUILT THE PYRAMIDS WHILE WE WERE IN CAPTIVITY UNDER THE PHAROAH. But I see your point as how the white man came, destroyed, conquered and amalgamated their beliefs traditions and customs into a ours (I.E.: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Egyptology)

    • Anonymous

get a life BruthaDee you are a fucking joke. aint no one reading that trife shit

Well the dumbing down of the culture and overt commercialism is only to compete with your eminems which basically has held back the real movement up to this present moment.

  • BaNg^OuT82

In that respect that like sayin "Hey black people, Now I understand that in 2013 most players in the NBA are black and the greatest player to ever graced the court is black. But you remember who invented the game? That was a white man. You remember who was on the court when it started. White men. So this is ours and you all need to remember your coming to this almost as a guest. Matter of fact you are a guest in this. This is our shit" Sounds Fuckin Rediculous Doesnt It? Talent speaks for itself regardless of color.

Apple meet Starfruit............whiteboys trying to compare my culture to a fucking basketball game....SMH.

    • Anonymous

The white man is getting proud SMH your day is coming esau...

    • bob

Yeah, but the real question is : why were these things started... Hip Hop started in a place that was basically rejected by normal class white people. It started with two turntables because people living in that area could not afford fancy musical equipments like most white people could. It started out as something to start a party and later evolved to conscious messages that were used to help their community [ghetto] and go against the oppresor a.k.a white people. And those songs with powerfull message, where the most relevant songs when they came out. not like nowadays where you have to have very dumb lyrics to make it. I don't blame white rappers, I blame labels/coorporations owned by white CEO's, that did not care about the actual Hip Hop message, since it was against them, and started to water it down by using rappers as tools to make money for them. And this is why lord Jamar is not too happy with the affliation of the white men in Hip Hop...now you wanna talk about basketball.. was basketball created because white people where to poor to play with black people ? was basketball created to try and stop a lot of hatred in society with it's provocative messages and realistic statistic ? Did basketball got worst because black people started to be apart of it.. no! you just said it - "I understand that in 2013 most players in the NBA are black and the greatest player to ever graced the court is black" Now you're are probably going to say well Eminem is white. First, I do not blame the rappers, but just answer this.. Do you think Eminem would have made it THAT far if he was black. You can just look at snoop,50,game that all worked with Dr Dre.. They are not at the same level as eminem.. you can say well its because eminem is a better rapper..but seriously,,sometimes eminem isn't really saying much shit..go listen to some krs one, brand nubian, talib kweli, mos def, rakim,,they are simply much more intricate with what they talk about. Eminem even said it himself - "let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half, I Ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that, but I could rap, so fuck school, I'm too cool to go back, gimme the mic, show me where the fuckin' studio's at, when I was Underground, no one gave a fuck I was white, no labels wanted to sign me, almost gave up, I was Like, fuck it, until I met Dre, the only one to look past, gave me a chance, and I lit a fire up Under his ass,"

    • Anonymous

Stupid idiotic white bitch with an idiotic analogy. Dumb white bitch, whites invented Basketball and whites own and control Basketball, devilish white bitches didn't let Black people play the fuckin game of Basketball untill pressure from non-white people forced them to. Now some white bicth is comparing the culture of HipHop to a fuckin sport ran by other white bitches.

Lord Jamar has evolved into an internet troll, and anybody who takes him serious deserves the frustration that comes from it. Come back and get me when Lord Jamars opinion makes a difference or has any kind of power behind it. Till then, treat him like any other internet troll and ignore him.
