Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 9/2/2012

Slaughterhouse very nearly gets the coveted #1 spot. Beanie Sigel and Madchild crack the charts with benchmark releases for two different reasons, but both are inched out by Strange Music's CES Cru.

An assortment of new albums took to the Top 200 charts this week. Most notably, Slaughterhouse scored a #2 debut with their first major label album, welcome to: Our House. The release, which just broke 50,000 first week units sold, was less than 20,000 behind #1, Country singer TobyMac.

Also hitting the charts was Beanie Sigel and Ruffhouse Records' comeback effort, This Time. Swollen Members' front-man Madchild's Dope Sick found a spot on the charts, as did Strange Music's newest act, CES Cru with their digital release, 13. Veteran singer Dwele's Greater Than One also debuted in Top 40, with an album that features frequent collaborator Black Milk.

Slaughterhouse's Our House Scores High Rankings In A Soft Week For Sales

Now on Shady/Interscope Records, the super-group of Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz (as Slaughterhouse) sold approximately 52,000 units of welcome to: Our House. The album follows up the group's 2009 debut on eOne Entertainment, which was before Eminem signed the quartet.

Our House features Em, along with Swizz Beatz, Cee-Lo Green and Busta Rhymes. The album boasts production from No I.D., AraabMuzik and the aforementioned Eminem.

Madchild Breaks Free With Dope Sick

Vancouver, British Columbia veteran emcee Madchild sold just under 3,000 first-week units with Dope Sick. The full-length follow-up to last year's M.A.D.E. (Misguided Angel Destroys Everything) features contributions from fellow '90s underground Hip Hop alumni DJ Revolution, Phil Da Agony and Dilated Peoples. Bandmates Rob The Viking and Prevail also worked on M.C.'s album about coming clean chemically and mentally.

hey man...im sorry to say this...im a fan of Slaughterhouse purchased the first and 2nd album...i supported this dudes and i still do but Interscope/Jimmy fucked them up pretty bad...if this album had proper promotion and when i say proper i mean BET,MTV,radio like they do with 2Chainz...this album would've done some some big numbers...sorry to say this but this is a FLOOP...THE ALBUM WAS DOPE BTW

    • Anonymous

People need to stop blaming Jimmy Iovine, that dude is so busy selling his headphones he hasnt even been to the office at interscope but twice all year, dead serious I read that from their VP in an interview. Truth is, I think Eminem himself is responsible

  • da1

Rap music is finished. But then again the music industry is finihed(commercially that is). It's not like people wont go out and buy your album. I'm pretty sure adele probably has gone diamond by now. But thats because she makes good music. People will still go out to buy your album, you just got to stop making that wack ass crack ass music.

  • Anonymous

Alot of hate being thrown their way. Some of it is deserved because when you sign to Shady there are going to be ridiculous expectations no matter who you're, but on the other hand, it's not like these dudes had an impressive track record before this. They can always go back to the underground and drop an album or mixtape twice a year if need be.

  • joocemoney

Ok i have to say this!! 0+0=0 basically Ortiz, Royce, Joe and Crook always have suffered from lack of commercial appeal so putting them together does not mean that they are anymore commercial than yesterday. You would think that Crook's fans would buy in and Ortiz fans would buy in so forth and so on but maybe they did and now you sale 50k first week compared to Joe putting out free mood music mixtapes. I just think they didnt need a major. They did 29k first week out indie so why go to a major other then more advance money. They will get a lot more shows because they get a lot more exposure so maybe thats the move but to say this is a flop is a joke, none of these artist ever have great success and Royce with Em was more about Em

"These are some of the most talented rappers alive" They may be talented, but face it. They got their big record deal with the top rapper maybe of all time, and they tanked. It's not enough just to be talented. You have to be able to pinpoint what rap fans want, then deliver. To be fair, it's not their fault most people probably downloaded it, but it's their fault the album wasn't anything close to resembling a good album.

"SO SISCO IS BETTER THAN NAS CUZ HE SOLD MORE????" Not better... More popular.

  • Ludacris

Since his 2000 major label debut, every one of his seven studio albums has sold at least 500,000 copies. Hes made the Cash Kings list in each of its six years, racking up $80 million over that periodmore than T.I. or Eminem.

    • TC

They haven't made 5 million from touring, have you taken into account you have to rent the venue? Pay for marketing, pay for all the equipment, the truck drivers, gas, your manager, etc. The artists personally don't make anything close to $100,000k per show.

    • Troll

I love how much you guys think these other artist made. How much do you think Swizz got paid for that hook? I can guarantee you it wasn't more than $25,000 and that goes for anyone else they got features from too. They made $676,000 from this album in 1 week. Do the math you fucking retard. You guys live in some fantasy world where you think everyone who does a feature gets paid $1,000,000 for it. You're silly if you think they didn't make money off of this. I was at their show in Detroit on the 29th, there was 5,000 people there who paid $20 a ticket thats $100,000 right there now multiply that by the over 50 shows they've done. Thats a smooth 5 million. Basically, you fucking lames are retarded and need to go back to school to learn basic math.

TRUTH... These bums lost Interscope a small boatload of $$$ and someone like MF Doom's imposter's imposter >>>>> these four cornballs combined.

It's not about lyrics anymore its about a hot beat and a catchy hook lol Eminem said it best. People don't wanna hear real shit they wanna hear about how many millionares are in the trap lol. 2012 where fake is the new real. SLAUGHTERHOUSE as a whole or individuals will lyricaly destroy your favorite rappers.

  • Anonymous

"you dont even know what the budget was this time around or the fact interscope has to approve the album before it comes out" Hush child. Any guesses on how much Interscope shelled out for Cee Lo's services alone? Fact is they didn't even want to release this. They finally had too and it showed. 52,000? Even considering downloading and a recession, it should have done at least 75,000.

    • lol

You fucking lames are caught up in the late 90s/early 2000's sale figures. 52,000 is a lot. At an average of $12 per album thats $624,000. Now combine that with their concert sales, lets say they average a 3,000 person crowd over every city they go to. With 50 shows, $20 a ticket, That's $3,000,000. Combine that with their digital sales which aren't included in this number which I'll say for shits and giggles is 10,000 units. Thats another $120,000. Now add in the money they made from their singles which IMO didn't do that well but still netted them another $100,000 MINIMUM. In case you've lost track we're at $3.8 million right now and thats not counting Merchandise sales. Basically, learn2mathFAGGOT

    • ^^^

How do you know Slaughterhouse didn't want to release My Life? They said they actually wanted to get Cee-Lo on a record with them.

LAUGHTERHOUSE = BUMS WITH ** ZERO ** CLASSIC SONGS, ZERO CLASSIC VERSES, ZERO CLASS PERIOD

  • Really??

How is slaughterhouse real hip hop? a group made up of below average rappers individually who linked up and formed one mediocre rapper....they always want to out punchline each other instead of creating harmonic songs.

    • Reallier??

What I said was they were below average individually...buddens,crooked I,ortiz 5'9 could never break out of the regional mixtape circuit alone. Why did people think they would put up big numbers as a group? Also they are way too punchliney. Its like every bar they are trying to say a joke even if it not related to the song. When has slaughterhouse made a switch up song with substance instead of thier dated punchline. A punchline should add depth to the bar not be the bar word to Fabolous. They rappers nor stand up comics...word to Katt Williams

only 'real hip-hop' because Jimmy Iovine humored Eminen who gave these bums a pity fuck... every LAUGHTERHOUSE story has been bought and paid for and still these bums couldn't sell their garbage. I think Interscope will sign Joell solo next, dude's scary talent, and bigger tits than Katy Perry!!!

to all these so called real hiphop fans... yall are the reason hiphop is drowning in shame right now. im a 80s baby and i remember when dedicated fans who had no job would spin their last couple dollars on their favorite rappers cd wit no problem reason why real hiphop sold so many records. now The hiphop heads use the net to basically disect their favorite rappers album (not just slaughterhouse) just to see if it meets a certain criteria... newsflash, Nas who is by far one of the best lyrical minded rappers today hasent broken 300,000 yet and why is that... cuz there are no more loyal fans. he should easily be gold right now. i hate wayne but this guy has gotta have loyal fans that no matter how good or bad his album is they buy it anyway to support him. niggas learning how to use the internet killed hiphop. too many hiphop heads expecting thier favorite artist on these major labels to make str8 raw rap, story songs etc, when thats cool but nowadays thats not what the masses is looking for and if it dont meet that standard for you hiphop heads you will right off your favorite rapper and not support them... im done wit my book..

  • dmfslimm

beans shouldve sold more. way more. this time is a solid ass album.

  • TCM

"The release, which just broke 50,000 first week units sold, was less than 20,000 behind #1, Country singer TobyMac." Now HHDX, I know you usually skew the facts here and there and continue to exhibit bad grammar from time to time, but why would you lie about someone's career to try and make someone else not look so bad? People always try to say "yeah country will always be Number 1!", but TobyMac is not a Country Singer. He is a Christian Rapper. Hip-Hop, not Country. So please stop trying to make it seem like Slaughterhouse didn't get #1 because of a "country artist". They simply didn't sell the units because more people were into another rapper than them.

  • SH

Slaughterhouse deserves so much more listeners...

  • Ws

52k people are listening to hiphop. I hope another 52k people catch on by next week.

  • Anonooso

Y'all niggas claim to be fans, yet y'all don't buy their shit?!?! This is ridiculous. Look at this numbers, 52,000 and still debuted at number 2! If this was 2001 they wouldn't even make it to the top 200. Y'all niggas need to buy music, artists can't live just with tour money.

  • bob

slaughterhouse is a lyrical onslaught. real hip hop dont get sales plain and simple.

  • Anonooso

I got the Slaughterhouse album from 4Shared, and it flopped. LOL

  • epitome1986

for those that say slaughterhouse flopped, you guys are wrong. their first album sold 77,000 units to date in about 2 years of being out. this album sold 52,000 in the first week, any progress from previous album is not a flop. paul rosenberg even said it himself a month or so ago, that they didn't spend much money on marketing or promotion, because slaughterhouse wanted to do a grassroots type promotion. i guess they knew they weren't going to go gold, so instead optioned to keep costs down and gradually build up their fan base.

these dudes were on magazines. radio. tv. youtube vevo. eminems twitter. eminems facebook. eminem put them on a show bill in NY and japan. they just dont have what it takes. period. 4 losers join up and make a losing group. they aren't real hip hop either. real hip hop artists don't kill themselves going for hit records and fail. real hip hop artists make good music and always have that to fall back on, even when they flop. their album sucked and flopped. got what they deserved. careers = over. there's no come back. just mixtapes and blog links.

    • YEBO

YES, MAYBE IT'S A PROGRESS FOR THEM, BUT STILL A FLOP, MAJOR ALBUM DOING THE SAME NUMBERS AS SOME OF THE INDEPENDENT ALBUMS, THAT'S A SHAME. PAUL ROSENBERG SAID IT BEFORE BECAUSE HE KNEW IT WILL FLOP. THE PROMOTION WERE BIG (MAYBE NOT MUCH MONEY WERE INVESTED IN IT, BUT EVERYBODY KNEW THAT THESE BUMS ARE RELEASING AN ALBUM, IT EVEN STARTED BEING MORE AND MORE ANNOYING DAY AFTER DAY). NOW WE CAN SEE THAT EMINEM DICKRIDERS MAKE EXCUSE WHY IT CAN'T GO GOLD. BIG KRIT DID THE SAME NUMBERS WITH ALMOST NO PROMOTION AT ALL AND HE AIN'T A SELLOUT POP SINGER LIKE EMINEM AND THESE FOUR FLOP BOYS. AND MANY FORMER FANS ARE SAYING THEY FELL-OFF OR RECORDED TRASH ALBUM NOT WORTH TO SUPPORT, SO I THINK THEY LOST EVEN SOME OF THEIR LOYAL FANS.

SH peers know the deal. Bun B says he'd actually join SH Kendrick Lamar and Ab Soul both say SH is dope Pusha T sang their praises after the BET cypher. The masses are ignorant, that is proven through the bullshit that gets spins on the radio. What Nas single off his new album got continuous play on the radio? He sold on the strenght of his name while that MMG YMCMB gets sales from beating their shit into cats heads through the radio. But it's what this dumb down world wants, so that what this dumb downed world gets.

He didn't say make a track with them, he said JOIN THE GROUP. So his guest appearence cateloge is irrelevant. Bun B is dope, and he, just like each artist from SH would shine brighter than the others on some tracks. That's just how it goes. Rremember Eminem on Renegades?

BUN AND PIMP MADE SOME SOUTHERN CLASSIC ALBUMS, SLAUGHTERHOUSE WENT DOUBLE-WOOD, NO CLASSIC, NO LEGACY IN HIP HOP, NO LYRICS, NO CHEMISTRY, JUST WASHED-UP GROUP HAVING "LUCK" TO BE SIGNED TO SHADY (HAVING LUCK TO GET THEIR CAREERS FUCKED UP BY SHADY LIKE YELA, OBIE, D12 AND OTHERS).

"If you sell more then your previous record then by no means is it a flop" Their last album didn't have nearly the budget this one did. Remember. They're on a major now so there were expectations.

    • Anonymous

you talkin out ur ass you dont even know what the budget was this time around or the fact interscope has to approve the album before it comes out and if they dont make changes to the album at interscopes request it doesnt come out fool

  • KingTD

Such an embarrassment to the music industry that SH and Nas only sellin that much

  • KJA

Shame about Madchild only selling that handful of records. I hope word of mouth picks up and he can sell some more units. Dope Sick is a solid hip hop album and deserves some attention.

So to all you so called "fans" screaming "SH first album was so much better" which you could make a case for, how many of you ACTUALLY BOUGHT THE ALBUM?! That's why hip hop and great artists are failing right now. People talk a good game, but when it's time to support it, they find any excuse not to. Then turn on them when they join a major label. Name one "gritty" "grimy" album that has sold since 2003? They did it the dirty way like "fans" wanted them to, didn't sell. Now they're doing it under the tutelage of cats that have sold millions, and they still don't sell. If all the fans they have would buy one damn album, we'd be having a different conversation. I've been to they're shows, and those fans alone equal more that 52k. Someone said it in an earlier post, YMCMB, MMG, Gaga ect... have a more loyal fanbase, period. Cat's would rather bootleg their favorite artists than go buy it. That is what's killing REAL HIP HOP.

    • Anonymous

Support you're favorite artists, period. SH fans didn't buy it cuz they all downloaded it. Downloading music is easily the cause for declining record sales everywhere. Black people don't buy music, white people do. Which is why pop and country artist outsell our artists by the thousands. Neither one of SH albums were wack. And the first thing I said was the fans who scream the first album was good and better than this one, but didn't buy it.

    • john

Never though I would say it, but YEBO has a point for the first time.

    • YEBO

SLAUGHTERHOUSE FANS DIDN'T BUY IT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T LIKE IT AND REALISED IT WAS TRASH BEFORE THEY HAD OPORTUNITY TO BUY IT. SHOULD THEY JUST BUY A TRASH ALBUM JUST BECAUSE IT IS LAUGHTERHOUSE? IF THEY THINK THE FIRST ALBUM WAS MUCH BETTER, IT IS NORMAL THAT THEY DON'T BUY THEIR MAJOR DEBUT WHEN THEY DON'T LIKE IT. THAT AIN'T AN EXCUSE, WHO WANTS TO SPEND MONEY ON SOMETHING HE DOESN'T LIKE?

    • Anonymous

LAUGHTERHOUSE = ** NOBODY'S ** 'FAVORITE' EXCEPT A FEW WHITE EM STANS... THEY EFFECTIVELY HAVE ZERO 'FANS'... DOGSHIT ON A PAPER PLATE WiTH JIZZ WOULDA HAVE SOLD JUST AS MUCH-- MORE PROBABLY-- WITH THAT MUCH $$$ MARKETING, ADVERTISING, LIES LIES LIES

  • yuppp

You guys call SH bums but the almighty NASSSSS cant even do past 300k with Life is Good...Its a time of bootlegging and where noone buys hard copies anymore. Not to mention everyone agrees sales =/= quality...but when it comes to them you mention sales RETARDS...Just because they are more successful than you will be in your life as UNDERGROUND artists and because they are signed to EM dont cry now...losers.

  • Ouas

The Slaughterhouse CD was a very good CD only a couple of songs that I didn't really feel that much, a flop highly doubt that. If you sell more then your previous record then by no means is it a flop. There lyrical content is still there, they just tried a different beat style all over this album, if they would of did the same thing they did on the first one then people would be saying the same thing people are saying now, they can't win ya'll are making it seem like, give they are sick lyricist and if you appreciated lyrics then you would understand that, but a lot of you with negative comments aren't understanding that.

    • Anonymous

DO YOU SEE HOW MUCH INTERSCOPE HAS BEEN PAYING FOR THIS FLOP? EVEN BY THE CHEAP WHORE STANDARDS OF 'RAP' 'JOURNALISM' IT ADDS UP... THESE BUMS OWE LOT$ OF MONEY TO JIMMY I... IT'S A FUCKING DISASTER, IN FACT... ** THREE ** FLOP SINGLES + EVERYTHING ELSE... SPEED DIAL MOTEL 6 AND SPLIT THE ROOMS-- THAT'S THE FUTURE OF LAUGHTERHOUSE

  • My 2 Cents

You gotta give it to the trolls & haters on this site.. They are very committed, and work overtime. It's gotta be lonely little girls. Would grown men really have this much free time?

  • blackula

Not really feeling the album, but it's sad to see that an idiot like 2Chainz will be lapping these guys soon. But this is the way the industry wants it though. They want to see bullshit, ignorant black music shine on the radio. Maybe, Jimmy could have given these guys a bigger push. Or maybe today's fans are too dumbed down to bother. I don't know.

  • Anonymous

Wayne is selling, drake is selling, Jay is selling, Kanye is selling, Em is selling, Adelle, gaga, beiber, taylor swift ,Nicki minaj etc are all selling & don't give me any of that sell out nonsense because the real sell outs Pitbull, flo rida, david guetta etc all flopped yeah their singles sold millions but their albums went wood. Truth is People like Slaughterhouse & Nas don't make good music, they have good lyrics but that's really all they have their music is boring & monotonous that's why it doesn't sell

    • Anonymous

calling SH boring makes u a bigger retard then Wacka Flocka...wanna hear songs...go cop some Lady Gaga, she can sing all day and still keep it metrosexual...

    • My 2 Cents

Lol, people have different taste in music.. Don't confuse quality of music with popularity. That's 2 completely different things..

  • YEBO

THE STORY CONTINUES SLAUGHTERHOUSE to FANS: Again, thank y'all for such a good oportunity to flop. Thanks to everybody who didn't buy our album, we hoped to stay outside the TOP 10, but we have even worse fans than we are as a rappers, it's such a bad surprise we are in TOP 10. INTERSCOPE: Sorry, boys, your deal is over, you sold just 52k copies and NOW you owe Shady $ 200,000. Probably your hope Eminem will pay for all that, but you're wrong. Right now, just go on another tour, maybe you get some little change to take back some of the money you owe. EMINEM to SH: Yes, you flopped, but album is still great and I promise you I will help making another flop album for you. EMINEM to himself: Yeeeeeeeeeah, their careers are just sinking down so fast, but we will need at least one more album, probably no big budget album this time, Jimmy will be crazy about that. CROOKED I: Damnit, I've been rappin' since 6452 before Tutanchamon and I still have no album. HIPHOPDX editors: Okay, we got most discussed review of the year right now, we got paid, album flopped, it's okay. We like that there are enough news about Slaughterhouse for either dickriders or miserable trolls. REAL HIP HOP FANS: I knew it will flop, it's such a shame that some of the dopest rappers right now decided to make that pop-ish album. Their first album was much better and this just sucks and doesn't fit them. WANNABE FANS OF so-called "LYRICAL" HIP HOP: This is the best selling album of the year!!! Hands down, the next week it will have over one million sold. CHIEF KEEF: THAT'S THAT SHIT I DON'T LIKE!!! LUPE FIASCO: I'm scared about that guy above me and culture he represent. Either I was scared about Slaughterhouse debuting at number one, now it's okay, TobyMac handled the situation perfectly. Can't imagine how it would be possible to have Slaughterhouse on top. YEBO: HIP HOP IS NOT DEAD YET, TOBYMAC SAVED THE GAME BECAUSE HE IS THE REASON WHY SLAUGHTERHORSE AIN'T NUMBER ONE. THANK TO ALL FANS OF REAL HIP HOP FOR NOT BUYING IT.

  • Its Um

yeah but at least they have a better album than most.

i bet 2Chainz - Based On A T.R.U. Story aint catching gold any time soon, weak lyrics, wearing ladies jewellery every where,he needs som hardcore in him,,,,gay ass

I copped the slaugherhouse album and definitely no regrets, shit bangs nearly every track....yes i d/l first but if I like it I support the artist if we even want albums made anymore, someones gootta buy the shit or hip hop will be actually dead (or just ring tone singles which can eat my ass)

    • Anonymous

what's that? a carnival frat rap piece of shit? listen to a goddamn Curtis Mayfield record or the Last Poets or Gil Scott-Heron record... why do you put up with this dogshit, just because some corporation told you to?

    • Right On

Slaughterhouse album is dope if you drop your expectaions and accept it for what it is.

  • Luke

what people need to learn to accept is going platinum or above isn't realistic anymore. Artists were selling those numbers when you had no choice but to go to the record store to get the album. Now they are competing with the "new ways" using the old method. (half the album sales)

  • Anonymous

I bought the album first day it dropped. It's an amazing album. Why do people hate on these guys so bad but praise the garbage that is the entire YMCMB camp? Cats have forgotten that hip hip os mre than what's played on the radio. It's easier to be ignorang and lazy these days which is why cats appeal to shit they don't really have to pay attention to to be entertained. SH album sales are a product of a lazy world and has no reflection on the caliber of RAPPERS these guys are. If SH isn't hip hop, then what is? One of you SH haters/YMCMB lovers explain to me what hip hop is? Why lyricism has died? I know I'm about to get called all kinds of ignorant shit, so let if fly...

    • rapradar

man , if slaughterhouse was rockin the mic at the time the wu was hell yea they could fuck with the wu.. they would be making songs that appeal to the masses and enjoy it because everyone loved that type of hiphop back then. times have changed and shit is so watered down now that its hard to except lyrics... expecially when everyone in the club gets cruck to "im hot like the oven" rap.

    • blackula

It's not all about just being lyrical. These guys will never see the WU. They can fit 100 words in each bar like they do, but can't make songs like the WU. The 9 MC's from the WU had better chemistry than SH ever will. The WU had Rza on the boards, SH has Em...lol. Huuuge difference. Rapping really fast and rattling off punchlines doesn't mean shit. These guys are making music on par with the Wu's worst albums (Iron Flag & 8 Diagrams), but nothing near 36 Chambers, Wu-tang Forever or the W.

    • thank you

AMEN!!! And to these stuck in the past clowns just to let yall know 36 chambers may be platinum but it took it 2-3 YEARS to do so...and that was back when there was NO downloading and pirating AND there was no bubble gum faggot radio rap brainwashing the masses and billboards...sorry but SH is more lyrical than Wu move the FUCK ON FROM THE MID 90s. SH>>absolutely anyone on the radio and mainstream hip hop

  • ok

Well that's real hip hop fans for you, just look at those Nas numbers, that's why i'll never hate on Wayne, Nicki, Flo rida, Drake etc pop fans may not be loyal but at least they support when you're hot, sticking to that real hip hop shit will have you doing Beanie sigel numbers, now these niggas owe interscope, they should've stayed independent

  • IDK

I know that music sales are sloping down and all, but 52,000 copies and still landed on #2??? And with TobyMac on the #1 spot selling 20,000 copies more than Slaughterhouse, making it around 72,000??? And to make it sound worse for both albums, they debuted in the Billboard the past week. Wow, I didn't know album sales can be THIS bad. Damn...

    • hjk

It would be still a flop considering how many units were sold by hyped artists in 2002-2003, Eminem Show, GRODT, Nelly album and others. It's just a straight flop. And it is the 2012, not 2003 these guys were even releasing in 2003 and all of that flopped

    • Anonymous

lol is that your justification for low sales?

    • Anonymous

fuck outta here; Obie is like Biggie compared to these fucking bums, who can't make interesting MUSIC if their lives depended on it.

  • @CJonno90

SLAUGHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRRRHOUSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE!! Congratulations... It's good to see rappers who have worked so hard for it get success (However big or small) although I think there was no reason for the album to sound commercial and they know that now after the singles didn't work so maybe the next Slaughter album will be back on the hardcore rap shit. Honestly thought if they stayed with that sound they would've sold more.

  • YEBO

ANY OF THAT SLUTHOUSE FANS SHOULD EXPLAIN ME, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE - THE MOST HYPED ALBUM IN LAST 2 YEARS WENT ON TO SELL ONLY 52K COPIES? WITH ALL THAT PROMOTION, BEING ON EVERY HIP HOP SITE FOR LAST 2 MONTHS LIKE EVERYDAY, PARASITING ON EMINEM'S NAME, HAVING HALF OF THE HOTTEST PRODUCERS RIGHT NOW, SUCKING EVERYBODY'S DICK AND STILL FLOP THAT HARD? THESE GUYS ARE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON A MAJOR LABEL (EXCEPT JOE BUDDEN AND ROYCE-EMINEM PROJECT) AND PROBABLY THE LAST TIME, THEY HAVE LITERALLY NO FANS, 52K, IT'S LIKE 10K FOR EACH AND ADDITIONAL 12K BOUGHT BY EMINEM DICKRIDERS. THEY EVEN GOT OUTSOLD BY A CHRISTIAN ARTIST, IT'S EVEN MORE SHAME FOR SH, MAYBE CHRISTIAN ARTISTS AIN'T BAD, BUT MOST OF THEM HAVE NO HYPE AND ALMOST NONE OF THEM DEBUTS ON NUMBER 1. THE ONLY ALBUM HYPED MORE THAN THIS ONE WAS NICKI MINAJ. EVERY MAJOR RAPPER MANAGED TO OUTSOLD SLAUGHTERHOUSE THIS YEAR, NAS AND TYGA WITH THEIR LITTLE HYPE AND 2 CHAINZ AND RICK ROSS AS WELL EVEN THOUGH THEY WEREN'T HYPED AS MUCH AS WELCOME TO FLOP HOUSE.

    • Lawrence

'Every major label managed to outsold Slaughterhouse' Go back to school bruh.

    • NYerForLife

What? you're a dumbass! Rick Ross's BS was pushed way more than this and that shit was a dud! Slaughterhouse made a mistake with their choice of sound, so let's see what they do next.

    • DICK THROWA

actually LAUGHTERHOUSE is the most hyped, given the disparity between the ** attention ** they got and their ** accomplishment. ** Ross, Wayne, Kanye, Jay etc (none of whom I care for in 2012) get a lot play but they also have proven fan bases. LAUGHTERHOUSE were a fucking fraud from the start-- they peaked on Koch and nothing could possibly change that; they are not built for MUSIC.

    • YEBO

FLOP A BIRD, FLOP A BIRD, FLOP A BIRD IF THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE NUMBERS, WHY THEY JUST DIDN'T GAVE US THAT SHITTY ALBUM FOR FREE? EVERYBODY CARES ABOUT THE NUMBERS, ESPECIALLY THEIR BOSS SHOULD. THEY AIN'T NO "FREE AGENTS" RIGHT NOW, BUT I KNOW THEY WILL BE NEXT YEAR. AND YES, IT WAS THE MOST HYPED ALBUM IN LAST 2 YEARS, RICK ROSS DIDN'T HAVE THAT MUCH HYPE (HE HAD A LOT BUT HE DESERVES IT), NEITHER 2 CHAINZ HAD BESIDES THE FEATURES AND IT DOES NOT MATTER, BECAUSE HE AND ROSS DROPPED A CLASSIC ALBUMS, FLOPHOUSE DIDN'T EVEN MANAGE TO MADE A RECORD THAT DOESN'T SUCK. AND JOELL ORTIZ IS STILL ONE OF THE WORST RAPPERS OF ALL TIME, FLOWLESS, NOT CREATIVE NIGGA WITH LITERALLY NO LYRICS... AND HE AIN'T A SHIT, HE EVEN CAN'T TAKE ANY PSEUDONYM, HE JUST USES HIS NORMAL NAME, LOL.

    • Anonymous

"THE MOST HYPED ALBUM IN LAST 2 YEARS" ^ more hype than Rick Ross? You're reaching. We'll wait while you show us the press budget.

    • Anonymous

So honestly, the four members of LAUGHTERHOUSE are good for... 7,000 copies each? 20,000 for Em? 4,000 for the features? Jimmy gave 'em Cee-Lo!! How could it flop?!?!?!

That hurt your feelings didn't it? Most of these comments are yours. No school? Work? Errands to do? I'm on vacation, up early on a beautiful morning seeing what's out in music before I go shopping. You? Going to stay here all day padding the comment section? You wreak of failure.
