Diddy Names His Favorite Song Off Of The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Life After Death"

Diddy also reveals that he plans to release a remastered version of the double-disc album.

Commemorating the 15th anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.'s death, Diddy recently reflected on his favorite song off of 1997's Life After Death. During an interview with MTV News, Puff took a few moments to pick his choice cut from the classic double-disc LP, settling on a solid cut.

"Aww man, Life After Death? It would probably have to be ...," Diddy said. " 'My Downfall,' 'My Downfall' is my favorite joint."

Diddy also revealed that he will release a remastered version of Life After Death to give something back to the people. He made a similar move with Ready to Die in 2004 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the album's release. Though there are no concrete plans to release a LAD remaster, he explained that it's his way of remembering Big on his 15th anniversary.

"We basically gonna let it rock, we have promoted it, promoted his legacy through movies, documentaries, albums, remixed albums, new albums and now it's time for the fans to have it," he said. "On the 15th anniversary, we'll definitely make sure that there is a remastered copy out there, but besides that we're not gonna do anything extra to extra push it. People are buying that album every day. It's a classic album and they're gonna keep on buying it."

Ms. Wallace probably hasn't seen paperwork in years. No way I believe she's been kept in the loop with Diddy. You already got served, now I see your boyfriend Schwarz is back trying to defend you. Do you have no shame?

YES!! but i feel like they should release a newer remastered version of RTD again with LAD so they both sound good and get the modern day remastered treatment release 'em on the same day. and no censored versions like the 04 remasterd version of RTD either.

Notorious Thugs that track was the best song on Life After Death (in my opinion)

I think I will check Amazon Corky. Hmmmm... Let's see. Interestingly enough, only one album (Born Again) seems to be in demand, with 5 copies left in stock. Not Ready to Die. Not Life After Death. Not even his greatest hits. So as usual, I'm right, while you're somewhere out in left field.

So if Diddy told you Black Rob's first album was still selling out in stores back East would you believe him? Biggie's gone, but when are you ready to die?

    • Anonymous

"If anyone would know if the album is still selling or not it would be the owner of the record label that it was released on and not an anonymous blog commenter." ^ and I will add Ms. Wallace, Amazon, iTunes, Soundscan would know if LAD is still selling. Are you a part of the aforementioned, employed by the Bad Boy label that sees the paperwork, or are you still that anonymous blog commenter? YOU said "Nobody's still buying this album". Prove it.

  • Mr Flamboyant

His kids get loot from the album sales, perhaps. Let's go ahead and say that they do. Benefit of the doubt entirely. But who will get the most money when it's all said and done? Yes. The owner. (shaking my head) It needs to stop eventually. It really does.

    • SCHWARZ

IT'S ACTUAL FACT MAMA WALLACE CONTROLS BIGGIE'S ESTATE. I EVEN REMEMBER HER DEADIN' KIM ON A BIGGIE SAMPLE. SO IN ALL ACTUALITY, IT IS NEEDED FOR PUFF TO ENDORSE THE CATALOG FOR HIM AND THEM. THE "BENJAMINS" SPRINKLIN' IN "SHOT CALLER" PAYS THEM BOTH. SLIPPERY SLOPE IT IS.

  • Anonymous

this nigga still living off of biggies name

    • Anonymous

^agree but to be fair those those are his kids but it was still a stupid remark anyway because lets be real diddy does not need biggie to stay relevant or make money. we all know that

    • Anonymous

ALTHOUGH HE MAY, BIGGIE'S KIDS ARE LIVING OFF THE SPINS AND ALBUM SALES TOO. SLIPPERY SLOPE IT IS. DON'T FORGET THAT WHEN YOU TYPE THAT HATE.

  • bllrrrppptttshhhhttt

    big time news right here!

  • Anonymous

Nobody's still buying this album. Stop using this man's name to put money in your pocket. Go out and find the next Biggie so you can befriend, exploit and ultimately set him up to die.

    • Anonymous

If anyone would know if the album is still selling or not it would be the owner of the record label that it was released on and not an anonymous blog commenter.

ready to die was way better. cant believe i ever thought life after death was a better album, its really good, but the wordplay isnt as good and its far too long.

    • Young King

I don't know ya'll I still havn't made a decision on which one I like the best. love both albums. But I do feel like RTD was more of a street album i guess but still Hip-Hop and LAD was more Hip-Hop if that makes sense lol. like i said though still can't decide.

    • Mr Flamboyant

      Sorry, champ. LAD>Ready to Die.

    • Anonymous

Wrong. LAD shows growth and is a classic.

  • So Icy Boi!
