The piece stated the following: ā€œGZA, the head to Wu-Tangā€™s Voltron has officially signed a release from his contract with Wu-Tang Productions. This leaves the status of his current album uncertain. Will it be Wu-Tang related? If so, why was the release necessary? GZA is still a part of the Wu-Tang Clan, but by ending his relationship with Wu-Tang productions, Wu collaborations may be a problem.ā€

One such general of the Wu-Tang, RZA emphatically says, Not True!! In his words, ā€œFirst and foremost the clan has not broken up. In regards to the ā€œgroupā€ Wu-Tang Clanā€¦thatā€™s a life long commitment that we are branded with. The truth of the matter is certain members requested control over their solo careers.ā€ The article further indicated that a major shake-up was occurring, whereby Wu Officials were working to avert. Again, this was also incorrect. RZA clarifies the issue by stating that; ā€œThe 7 year term with Wu-Tang production came to a close in 2000, some members felt that they should govern their own careers, especially after learning the ā€œINā€™sā€ and OUTā€™sā€ of the game from myself and other Wu executives. I myself (Rza) personally gave my blessing to anyone who wanted to tackle this game their own way.ā€

We at hiphopdx.com were also informed that Raekwon will also be getting a release from Wuā€™s production. The Wu-Tang entity entered the game with only a few having knowledge of what it takes to succeed. RZA concludes by stating, ā€œNow 10 years later we all have a strong understanding. I foresee WU being involved with running various labels managing new artist making films etcā€¦The releases given to certain artist will only expand us. Nonetheless Raekwon said it best, ā€œ9 generalsā€¦with their own soldiers, working for one cause.ā€ Any further media information can be attained by Dreddy at Digital Recordings via email, krugerdigital@nyc.rr.com.
