Bandman Kevo Demands Answers Over Teenage Son's Death

Bandman Kevo has shared the worst possible news with his fans — that his teenage son Kevian has been killed — and he’s asking for fans’ help.

On Sunday (March 31), the Chicago rapper tweeted: “Rip Kevian,” and shared several Instagram Stories that made it clear he was referring to his son.

Kevo then shared a headline saying the teen had been “gunned down,” and explained that he was having trouble getting in touch with his son’s mother.

He also appealed to the public for information, implying that there would be a reward.

“Anybody in Kalamazoo know anything about my son death dm me now,” he wrote, accompanied by an emoji of a bag of money.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety confirmed in a news release that Kevian Andre Rice, 16, was killed by gunfire at 2:05 pm on Sunday (March 31). The violence, the department said, “appears to involve an online marketplace transaction.”

“Officers responded to the report that a ‘man was just shot’ with a vehicle leaving the scene at a high rate of speed,” the release reads. “On arrival, Officers located Mr. Rice suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and rendered emergency medical aid. Officers also located a firearm at the scene.

“Mr. Rice was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.”

The news release went on to said that “the vehicle that left the scene” was found at a nearby hospital, with two subjects seeking treatment for their own gunshot wounds.

No arrests have yet been made, and an investigation remains open.

Bandman Kevo toldThe Shade Room that he has heard, in the outlet’s words, “mixed reports” about the incident and is “unsure of exactly what happened.”

Prior to that, the 34-year-old was known for his bizarre antics, like the time in 2023 when he had an unusual interaction with an animal.

In November of that year, he shared a video on Instagram in which he can be seen biting one end of a food object and transferring it into the mouth of a bear, whose tongue makes contact with the rapper’s lips.

“Would you try this?” he captioned the post. “This the same bear that broke @albuqaish.jungle [who seems to be the person running the zoo] Lamborghini door.”

Many fans were weirded out by the mouth-to-mouth feeding, with one person commenting: “Yeah my boy tongue locking with a bear is next level freaky,” while another wrote: “Why he ain’t wipe his bottom lip off.”

One user even suggested that the “Uver” rapper was going out of his way to stand out, saying: “He Tryna Do Anything To Go Viral.”
