This is different. This is music from the 60s, Drake is teeny bopper sweet music for my little sister. He whines when he sings. What the roots are doing in this video is far from what drake is capable of.
This is differnt…And not just because it’s from a previous time period, but because it has meaning…If they had made some new song that had real life meaning to it then Common wouldn’t complain…And for the record, Common is very closely affiliated with The Roots and Thought, so he would never diss them…Pop singers today sing about stuff like parties and hoes and things that don’t really matter…At least in the big picture, like segregation and political problems do…
