Slug [Atmosphere] – 1989 Performance

Hell, we all had to start somewhere, right. Here’s a vintage Slug performance when he was rhyming under the moniker of Sean1. Bask in Hip Hop nostalgia.

    1. only in 89 could a white boy start a track with assalamu alaikum wearing an african medallion neck piece and some boat shoes… props to the back up dancers tho, that shit was hot

    2. Had no idea dude was this old, never been an atmosphere fan but I respect them

As Wack as this is, I respect them even more knowing how long he put work in, its like Em with all those horrible “Bassmint Productions” songs from the late 80’s, shows that practice and hard work can lead you someplace

      1. I’ve always been a big fan of Slug/Atmosphere, hell…I’m a fan of most all the artists signed on Rhymesayers. They are always consistant with real solid hip hip, and hardly ever disappoint. The hip hop scene in the minneapolis/st paul area is ridiculous, lots of good talent up there.

Em’s Infinite album didn’t come out ’til the mid 90s (not 80s)… and I wasn’t really diggin’ the style on that album, I agree with you there but The Slim Shady EP, while he was still Web Ent., is a classic, imo

    3. that was the coolest vid hhdx has uploaded in a while! slug is one of the best story tellers in the game. cant wait for them to come out with anothr album.!!

    4. Much luv to slug reppin for the old headz in hip hop…23 yrs in the game and still relevant is sayin something….Dude has never compromised his music to make it big !!!
