Dressed in head-to-toe gold, Beyoncé delivered a well-written speech after her win for Best Urban Contemporary Album at the 2017 Grammy Music Awards, which she earned for her album, LEMONADE. Although she was up against other talented artists like Gallant, Anderson .Paak, Rihanna, and KING, Queen Bey reigned supreme. As her husband, Jay Z, daughter, Blue Ivy, and mother, Tina Knowles, looked on, the noticeably pregnant songstress took the stage to thank her family, Grammy voters, God, fans, and went on to discuss “pain and loss.”
She explained the intention of her LEMONADE project (including the LEMONADE film) was to “give a voice to our pain, our struggles, our darkness, and our history, and to confront issues that make us uncomfortable.”
