HipHopDX Premiere: Directed by Denzel Washington and written by August Wilson, Fences is an adaptation of Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play that tells the story of a man whose dreams of playing professional baseball were thwarted when he was deemed “too old.” The Paramount Pictures film stars Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Jovan Adepo, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, and Saniyya Sidney with production from Scott Rudin, Washington and Todd Black.
In an exclusive clip, Times Have Changed, Troy Maxson (Washington), who makes his living as a sanitation worker in 1950s Pittsburgh, is shown having a conversation with his wife Rose Maxson (Davis) about not wanting his son (Adepo) making the same mistakes. In the film, Mr. Maxson creates further tension in his family when he crushes his son’s opportunity to meet a college football recruiter. Fences is currently in theaters.
