Pharrell was nothing but smiles when he ascended on an auditorium full of children at The Equity Project Charter School in Manhattan middle school last Friday (December 9). The Grammy Award winning producer and songwriter crept onstage as the school band was performing and caught them by surprise. He went on to accompany them on two of his latest songs, “I See A Victory” and “Runnin’” from the soundtrack of the upcoming film Hidden Figures.
The Equity Project’s arts director Alan Davis said the students had rehearsed the music for three weeks, according to Okayplayer, “The emotional intensity that I saw on that stage, I don’t remember seeing before in my life,” Davis said. “It was really special.”
