Michigan artist John Calhoun returns to premiere his latest single release for “The Good Guys,” with a sharp visual from director Hunter Lyon. Riding the momentum from his breakout video “Written,” “The Good Guys” gives another promising glimpse into the sound of Calhoun’s forthcoming project, ♛989♛.
Over production from Roca Beats, Calhoun muses on the black market economy of small town America, while processing what it means to be a rising talent in an area with only a few musical role models to speak of.
Calhoun states, “It’s taken a lot of work just to gain the sliver of attention I have on me right now. Now I feel a responsibility to keep building on it. I’m going to be a leader in music from the 989.”
