After the momentous unveiling of A Tribe Called Quest’s long-awaited final album, We got it from Here…Thank You 4 Your service and an unforgettable appearance on Saturday Night Live, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Consequence, and Busta Rhymes keep on giving with new visuals for the standout single, “We The People.”
Shot in their hometown of New York City, Q-Tip and the rest of the gang are filmed rapping into a collection of vintage microphones as their words are blasted out across The Big Apple. The most touching clip is when a mural of the late Phife Dawg comes to life and we see the Five Foot Assassin’s likeness start spitting his verse.
Featuring contributions from Kanye West, André 3000, Jack White, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, and, of course, Busta Rhymes, the new album is one of the best things to happen to Hip Hop this year, and the subsequent video is the icing on the cake. Check it out above.
