During an episode of The Real, Run The Jewels mastermind Killer Mike spoke out on this year’s election, explaining why people were so angry and what we do now that Donald Trump has officially been voted into office. Killer Mike has been an avid supporter of Bernie Sanders and vocal throughout this campaign. He also never shied away from calling out Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton multiple times and assured people he wasn’t voting for Trump nor Clinton. He apparently has no intention of quieting his political voice anytime soon.
“I think poor white people are mad because the system that promises you something based on that isn’t ever going to give you that,” Mike said. “I knew people were mad, mad enough to do things I hadn’t expected them to do. So I saw people who looked like me and you say they were voting Trump and that scared me.”
He also added, “This is our country…you vote people in, people are appointed because of your will. This is the grandest, potentially the grandest republic to have ever existed and can keep existing if we realize a republic, like a human body grows and it transforms and becomes something else so what you guys have to do is stay vigilant making sure that this country is progressing. We are definitely going to see a female president within our lifetime.”

Co-host Loni Love also chimed in, saying “It’s going to be rough, but we need to respect each other,” a sentiment important to keep in mind as many Americans attempt to process last night’s (November 8) election results.
