HipHopDX Premiere: It’s common knowledge New York City is widely known and respected as the birthplace of Hip Hop culture. The True Scribes-produced posse cut,“New York Gangsters,” brings 10 New York City rappers together on one track repping all five boroughs—Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island). Necro, Capone (of Capone-N-Noreaga), Tragedy Khadafi, Hec Teck, Dom Pachino (of Killarmy/Wu-Tang fam), Thirstin Howl The 3rd (of The Lo-Lifes), Raze The Ratchet, and Willie Stubz (of Beatnuts fam) all contribute their own unique rap styles.
“I don’t think anything like this has ever been done before on this level, with OG rappers all combined to rep The East Coast,” Necro tells DX. “This track is something special, and something needed in this day in age of mumble rap and senseless fast food trap music. Real MCs spitting real thought out, technical wordplay verses is missing in this Hop Hop culture, and this is one step in preserving the dopeness.”
The video for “New York Gangsters” was produced and directed by Hec Teck and Necro. Check it out above.
