Political Hip Hop is being appreciated more than ever these days and in honor of the Black Panthers Party’s 50th Anniversary, and Paris, the Bay Area rap icon who has never been above being banned, unfiltered or speaking up for the cause.

His new visual for “Lethal Warning Shot” has all the makings of the tension-filled news reports of police brutality — the same content news outlets try and censor to keep the story under wraps. Racial profiling? Kids getting shot in the streets? Over militant police? Check, yes and yep. It’s all packed in the video.

Written, produced, performed and directed by Paris, the single is the latest shell casing from his explosive double album, Pistol Politics, available now on iTunes.

As the Hip Hop vet raps “Comin live from the Bay,/The side where the black lives die everyday/No rise in the pay, just hard times of the lost lives/On the front lines cryin’ in pain,” in contrast to the social injustices displayed in the “Lethal Warning Shot” video, you feel every word tenfold.
