The name of Jamaica born artist Mystic Davis may ring a bell or it may not. Those who are fans of Major Lazer will probably remember her from the “Bubble Butt” video she not only stars in, but is also found singing the hook alongside Bruno Mars, 2 Chainz and Tyga.

She’s paired up with fellow Jamaicans DizTroy for “Mystic Strings,” a mash-up of dancehall, Hip Hop, electronic and trap. This serves as the first release of many on the newly launched Gee Jam, a spinoff of Jon Baker’s Gee Street label from back in the day (Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick).

Comprised of Troy Baker and Dale “Dizzle” Virgo, DizTroy is a production group intent on infusing dancehall with British and American musical influences. “Mystic Strings” is a snippet of what’s to come. Check it out above.
