GRAMMY-winning producer and musician Terrace Martin is Snoop Dogg’s latest guest on the newest episode of MERRY JANE‘s GGN (Double G News). As Snoop nonchalantly puffs on a blunt, they talk Herbie Hancock, relaxed hair, the real definition of “pimp,” and Martin’s sixth studio album, Velvet Portraits.
As the son of studio musician Curly Martin, the producer, multi-instrumentalist was given a first rate education in jazz, but also immersed himself in Hip Hop. Martin was 18-years-old when he first began collaborating with The Doggfather. Since then, the two have worked together on several albums, including 2004’s R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, 2006’s Tha Blue Carpet Treatment and 2008’s Ego Trippin.
He’s also the mastermind behind Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 magnum opus, To Pimp a Butterfly, which earned Martin two GRAMMY Awards.
