Cey Adams, the original creative director for Def Jam Recordings, has been tapped by writer/director Jace for an eight-part docu-series on the making of Adams’ 2008 book, DEFinition. Although the filming for the series doesn’t begin until next month, in the meantime Jace has released a brief snippet of what’s to come. The clip shows Adams showcasing his graffiti handstyles for the director.
Adams is responsible for designing album covers like Public Enemy’s Fear Of A Black Planet, 3rd Bass’ The Cactus Album, and Beastie Boys’ 12″ single for “Cooky Puss.” In 1982, he appeared in the historic PBS documentary Style Wars about subway graffiti in New York.
His career spans nearly four decades and is truly the definition of “legendary.” Stay tuned for updates.
