HipHopDX Exclusive Premiere: “You’on Know” is the latest music video by S.U.P.A, featuring his brother Duney Kush. The beat is produced by shun on da beat (SODB). The song, like much of S.U.P.A’s catalog, is inspired and drawn from his real life experiences, which is very deep considering his young age. Calling Lewisville, TX home for most of his life, he spent roughly a year in California essentially homeless and living out of a car. Not out of necessity or a turn of bad luck, but out of perseverance and determination, he made a willful decision to move to the Sunshine State. The reasons for this move? Out of a drive to succeed as a musician, but also to spend time with his newly born son whose mother lives in California.
He was determined to not be apart from his son during this crucial and brief time in a child’s life. And while he was able to use his drive and grind to his advantage, catching the eyes and ears of tastemakers and some movers and shakers, his time was well spent. Now, he returns to Texas to reboot for his attack in the entertainment industry in California, while Duney Kush returned to see family. Together, they utilized this time to shoot the video for the song they recorded while they were in Cali. The video is directed and shot by John the Baptist.
