HipHopDX Exclusive Premiere: After dropping another new single for “Commitment,” Joseph Rose returns with another brand new video for “Pour You Out,” produced by Pro Logic. Joseph Rose is set to release his debut EP True Colors on August 26 through Aileron Music. The EP was produced by one of Toronto’s hottest Hip Hop producers Pro Logic (Drake, Lil Bibby), and features Joseph Rose collaborating with heavy hitters P. Reign, Rob The Viking from Swollen Members, and Raeliss.

Joseph states, “‘Pour You Out’ is a song inspired by my childhood experiences, written to my father. My mother was forced to leave him when I was 4 years old due to his abusive, unfaithful and untruthful ways. The song and video are a rough reflection of the events myself, my brother and 3 sisters witnessed and continue to go through, as a result of the way our father chooses to live his life. Although it may sound like I wrote the song out of spite, it is actually more about forgiveness and acceptance. Although some of the lyrics are quite vivid, they are not meant to insult or embarrass, but to let him know that I accept him for who he is. I wanted to make it clear that I have no pity, and that he needs to stop making excuses and feeling sorry for himself and move on.

I really just wanted to stand up for my family and make a song that many other people on earth can relate to. I wanted to make a statement and stand up for all the kids that grew up with a single parent, and give them a voice publicly, by saying all the things that they wish they had a chance to say, or that maybe they are too afraid to say.”
