Wax notched a number of wins back in Youtube’s early days. He and his twin brother HerbalT built their initial reputation off of the nascent platform in 2007. Since then he’s proved he’s one of the most imaginative emcees in Hip Hop. The former Def Jam artist’s video “Rosana” racked up 34 million views and international recognition. Sadly though, as Wax tells us in this exclusive conversation with HipHopDX, he didn’t clock much revenue.
“Unfortunately for the ‘Rosana‘ video it got flagged early on for sexual content so I didn’t make much money off it it,” he says. “I guess it was sexual whatever, you know what I mean? I think the girl was so hot that she exudes sexuality. Shout out to Melissa. What up.”
