All I can say is that I’m glad some of young rappers are really coming into their own and keeping hip-hop alive. J.Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Big K.R.I.T and ASAP Rocky each represent a different part of the country/continent and keep the quality of music high across the nation which is important and keeps me believing that hip-hop will stay strong when Eminem, Jay-Z, Nas, T.I, Snoop and some of the other veterans finally bow out.
People preach about “saving Hip-Hop” so much that they don’t realize that “Hip-Hop” isn’t to be saved. A “person” must be saved by Hip-Hop in order to give “great” Hip-Hop back to the world. J. Cole is a pure example of this and a few others including Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T. and Drake as Cory mentioned below.
