In 2000, Dilated People gave the world their debut album The Platform. This album dropped during a special time in rap history where several California hip hop artist were steering away from violence and gang references in their lyrics and leaning toward a more conscious form of rap.

Today, we revisit one of the albums singles, the title track, The Platform. This track was produced by Alchemist and fun fact, he sampled Dominic Frontiere;s Crane and Jeru the Damaja’s Come Clean. A recent track you may have heard Alchemist on was ScHoolboy Q’s Break THe Bank. Enjoy this blast from the past and let us know your favorite throwback tracks below.
