Hit-Boy is mostly known for his banging beats, but in his new video “Alert,” he shows off his rhyming skills as he and Nipsey Hussle exchange braggadocios rhymes. The Nem Perez-directed video showcases neon light, beautiful women, low-riders and scenery of Pasadena, California. In February, the rapper-producer revealed that the song was supposed to be given to Dr. Dre. “I made that song trying to give it to Dr. Dre,” Hit-Boy says in an interview with Stashed TV. “He came in. He really liked it, but I guess it wasn’t fitting where he was at right now. I felt like it was an urgent song…[Nipsey Hussle and I] made the song and a week later it was on the radio.”

Be on the lookout for Hit-Boy’s new project “We The Plug,” coming soon.
