One More Chance off The Notorious B.I.G.’s 1994 album Ready to Die spawned its fair share of remixes and remakes, but the version that is perhaps best known is the 1995 Remix single. The album version of this track was completely different: it featured Total instead of Faith Evans, and Biggie’s lyrics were substantially less female-friendly. The Remix boasted a new instrumental produced by Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs himself and sold over one-million copies within two months of its release, making it the highest debuting single for a rap song on the Hot 100 where it came in at #2. What you see above was put together by famed music video director Hype Williams, who would go on to record Tupac’s “California Love” video only a few months later.
Take a few moments to see if you can spot the following individuals in the video: Total, Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell, Heavy D, Mary J. Blige, Faith Evans, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, D-Nice, Patra, Miss Jones, Queen Latifah, Craig Mack, Tyson Beckford, Aaliyah, Changing Faces, Kid Capri, Zhane, and, of course, Puffy. Now that’s a guest-list.
