I am an extreme Eminem fan, but the answer to the question of why Eminem was able to get so high up in a predominately black culture, is because he is white, if he wasn’t white MTV wouldn’t have played so quickly, he still would have had Dre, but his exposure would be quickly limited by loss of interest in him…
He is a great rapper honestly, but his whiteness helped him a great deal… that is no lie.
But his race isn’t making it easier for other white people to get into hip hop, Asher Roth may be the next big name, but no where near as big as our friend slim
