    1. You forgot about Colonel Loud and DJ Luke Nasty who had singles on the charts this year. As well as Rain aka Rain910 and T-Top contributions to battle culture. All things considered, their contributions shouldn’t go unnoticed as well. GREAT video! Carolinas Got Next!

      1. Love Rain. Huge fan. He’s been doing great things for NC Hip Hop. Fan of Colonel Loud too. I’m excited to see so much happening out of the region.

    2. What up brotha…I’m from the Raleigh/Durham area…and you hit a lot of things right on the button. I DJ at Duke University and I have had a lot of the Jamla artist on my show. A few others that have dope projects out are OC from NC, IllPo, Novej, Joshua Gunn and of course you have heard of Rapper Big Pooh… OC from NC and IllPO have production from D.R.U.G.S. Beats who was Grammy nominated for his song on Dr. Dre’s COMPTON and Novej has production from Trox who has done a lot of production for Team Backpack artists. There is so much talent in the NC…but you already know that! Peace man!

    3. NC on the map now!!!! Drique London, Brizz Rawsteen, King Mez, Sky Blew, Kadet_, III from one shot competition, Alex Aff….tooo many to name!!

    4. It’s really disappointing that the best lyricist from the Carolinas has yet to be even been acknowledged at all and he is 6 projects in. Benjamin Starr is the best lyricist in the Carolina’s and one of the best lyricist period. I am in Philadelphia and his first two projects are flawless. The Scorsese Sessions is one of the best albums I have ever heard. He has stories, multiple flows, reflection, introspective thought, multis, alliteration, and bars on top of bars. I hope he doesn’t run out of steam before he gets his due.

    5. Why would they matter when even sexuality don’t seem to these days you got all kinds of suspeck niggas in the game like Young Thug

    6. I’m the hip hop music director at North Carolina State University’s (9th Wonder’s alma mater) radio station WKNC. It’s been a great time to be involved in NC’s current upswing in national recognition. Pretty much everyone mentioned on this video and more, is in heavy rotation at our station, and have been for years! We love our local scene! check out our blog blog.wknc.org. We just posted the first episode in a series of podcasts highlighting the best freestyles from unknown artists that have come up to the station from the Raleigh area. Even have one on the way from T-Top.

    7. North Carolina is actually a big area, even though it looks small. We have a mountain region, city region, the beach region along with the country side of things. I think the same can go for SC to.

    8. Another dope one under the radar (although he just signed to Dreamville) is Lute FC….He was the 1st MC from Charlotte that caught my attention…Dope. Wish he would put out more product
