Think about ALL of the mc’s who were, at one point, the “best” in the game, or who have been in the culture for a long time: Nas, LL, KRS-1, DMX, Snoop, Weezy, and many others I’m leaving out. What do they have in common? If they are hot now, they weren’t when they first started. And if they were fresh 15-20 years ago, they aren’t today.
What Common is doing is amazing. I’d put Raekwon in there too.
